    Aptim is seeking an energetic and motivated intern to join our Estimating team. APTIM's internship program provides students with the opportunity to apply skills gained in an academic setting to challenging projects and meaningful work assignments. The Estimating Intern will be assisting Estimators with preparing industrial OGC estimates including mechanical piping, equipment, structural steel, insulation, painting and scaffolding estimating efforts. This is a temporary internship position. The STRIVE Internship Program is a 12-week experience running from May 18, 2026 through August 7, 2026. Interns are required to be fully available during Week 1 (May 18--22) and Week 12 (August 3--7) of the program. Week 12 includes company-paid travel to an APTIM office (location to be announced) for an end-of-internship celebration. Interns are expected to minimize absences to ensure a meaningful program experience. The program observes Memorial Day (May 25, 2026) and Independence Day (July 3, 2026, observed). Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities: Assist with industrial estimates from conceptual to detailed Assist Estimators with preparing estimates with limited information by leveraging experience to fill technical gaps in information Prepare and assist with mechanical estimates and associated trades Other duties as assigned that may include but are not limited to: Calculate material quantity requirements from engineering drawing dimensions. Assist in gathering and researching company historical data used in the estimating function. Prepare basic drafting, tracing documents per instructions. Perform routine clerical duties such as setting up new files, maintaining departmental files, reproducing documents, drawings etc. for inclusion in bid proposals. Basic Qualifications: Attending an accredited educational institution pursuing a degree in Construction Management or Engineering field Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing conflicting priorities. Minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA with at least 60 hours of coursework completed Must be at least 18 years of age Must have experience with MS Office software, including but not limited to MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint Excellent critical thinking, analytical, and communication skills Perceptive, self-motivated and collaborative. Must be a self-starter, excel in time management, and work well under pressure Must be available to work in various settings such as in office or remotely, depending on department needs. Planning field exploration and laboratory testing programs. Some travel may be required to project site visits, client meetings, safety audits, construction oversight, etc. Qualifications & Experience: Required Qualifications: Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field. Preferred Qualifications: Pursuing master's degree in civil engineering. 1 year of prior geotechnical internship or work experience. Proficiency in using programs such as gINT, SEEPW, SLOPEW, CWALSHT, PYWall, LPILE, and GROUP is also a plus. Experience in geotechnical analyses for dams, levees, cofferdams, and foundations for various hydraulic structures.
