OBJECTIVE
Are you looking for a challenging and rewarding paid rotational internship opportunity with one of Michigan's top ranked workplaces? Michigan Farm Bureau Family of Companies is seeking motivated students to join our team!
During this fourteen-week rotational internship program, you will have the opportunity to learn more about Claims, Agency, Marketing, the Public Policy and Commodity Division of Michigan Farm Bureau and Underwriting while receiving a realistic job preview of each area. As an intern, you will receive training and support from managers of each division mentioned above and will have the opportunity to work on various projects. You will also be required to complete a Capstone Presentation detailing your experience at the end of the summer to Michigan Farm Bureau Family of Companies leadership team.
Agency Intern is a part of the Agricultural Insurance Internship. The Agricultural Insurance Internship is a partnership between five different departments within Michigan Farm Bureau Family of Companies. Interns who are a part of the Agricultural Insurance Internship will get to have unique experiences in our Claims, Underwriting, Marketing, Agency and Public Policy & Commodity Division spaces. While you will be hired into one space, you will go through rotational Wednesdays, where you spend each Wednesday within one of the five departments listed in the Agricultura Insurance Internship.

Additionally, all summer interns will participate in the Capstone Presentation. This will be a presentation to recap your summer with Michigan Farm Bureau Family of Companies, the projects you worked on and any other information regarding your internship.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist multi-line agent(s) and their staff with daily agency operations.
Prospect and recruit potential insurance clients.
Attend marketing events and distribute information and promotional materials on behalf of agency as needed.
Face-to-face interaction with Agent Staff, Agents, Managing Partners, and insureds.
Assist crop team with day-to-day operations as needed.
Gain an understanding of key functions through on the job training and development.
Collaborate with department staff to contribute on various processes and projects.
Assist department managers with day-to-day tasks and procedures.
Undertake special assignments as instructed by department manager.
Build relationships with department stakeholders and contribute toward company and department goals.
QUALIFICATIONS
Property Casualty license preferred, opportunity to become P/C licensed is available with internship.
Must be enrolled at a college or university and have declared a major course of study moving closer to (or working toward) graduation.
Proven track record as an excellent team player required.
Outstanding communication and customer service skills.

As a Clinical Extern, you'll report to the Manager of Patient Care Services. You will provide patient care, under the close direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. Position Summary:
The Archival Intern will learn a variety of skills associated with planning and coordinating as they work with the Registrar for the development of BWL's first corporate historical collection. The intern will need to be trained to use a high-resolution scanner, understand our internal number system for photographs, labeling techniques, how to use our database, and what tagging fields are required. The Archival Intern will learn from, and be supervised by, a mentor of the Public Relations & Marketing Department.
Essential Functions:
Photograph digitization project:
The intern will scan each historic photo, upload it to our collections database, and tag the image with relevant information.
The intern will be responsible for researching each photograph that does not have sufficient information, when possible.
The intern will follow the structure and organization of this project to allow BWL staff to utilize the images in a variety of ways, i.e. marketing, community outreach, and museum exhibitions.
Additionally, digitizing and tagging each photo will provide the base information for a community-outreach initiative that will give the Greater Lansing Community access to photographs that may feature family, friends, and old coworkers.
Required to follow BWL Safety Manual and wear personal protective equipment for all field work.
Attends training and safety awareness and/or skills improvement as required by the BWL or government agency such as MIOSHA.
Expected to comply with all BWL policies and work rules.

Must be currently enrolled in an accredited educational institution with a focus of history, anthropology, information studies, museum studies or other related humanities with a junior or senior status during the summer of 2026.
