Position Summary This internship consists of a full immersion in athletic training services for Carolina Ascent FC. This will include training set up and break down, pre- and post-training treatments, rehab programming and facilitation, training coverage, match day stretcher crew, and documentation. The intern will not travel with the team but is expected to be present at most, if not all, home matches. The student will work closely with professional athletes, carrying out daily athletic training services under the guidance of the Athletic Training staff. The student is expected to display their current athletic training skills while seeking opportunities to learn new skills. Clinical questions and discussions are encouraged. Professionalism and maturity are always expected while around staff and athletes. The internship will serve toward clinical credit for a CAATE accredited program. Hours The Internship schedule will follow the team schedule which is subject to change at any time. The Intern will be asked to work flexible hours, including weekends and late nights. The intern will have off when the team is off but may be asked to assist with non-travel rehabs and trainings. The student can expect to work an average 30-35 hours per week. Dates The internship will ideally span the entirety of either the fall or spring Gainbridge Super League season but understanding that each MSAT program has different clinical rotation requirements, the start and end dates can be flexible.
