Christiana Pharmacy Department is currently recruiting for a Pharmacy Student Intern to work a minimum of 24 hours per week during summer and holiday breaks, which could include days, evenings, midnights and weekends with one holiday, required annually. The ChristianaCare Newark campus and Wilmington campus in-patient pharmacies operate 24 hours a day. Responsibilities: Assists the pharmacist in providing timely, efficient, cost effective, and appropriate pharmaceutical care to the patient Delivers and exchanges 24-hour cart fill medications Makes rounds of nursing areas for medication drop-off and pick up discontinued medications Prepare medications through appropriate compounding procedures and aseptic sterile techniques in accordance with USP 795, 797 and 800 (hazardous medications) in a timely manner Reorder medications in short supply and restock picking station and other areas of the pharmacy Manage Automated Dispensing Cabinets (AcuDose) inventory, including accurate selection and loading of medications Inspect medications at nursing units, including refrigerators and AcuDose cabinets. Ensures that medications are stored properly and that only in date medications are stored. Removes discontinued medication. Answer telephones and greet personnel coming into the pharmacy, answering any questions they may have. Requirements: Currently in pre-pharmacy or first professional year of an ACPE accredited Pharm.D. program Desire to pursue a career in hospital pharmacy practice Previous hospital pharmacy experience preferred; other pharmacy experience will be evaluated for hospital equivalency Knowledge of generic and trade names of formulary drugs Ability to type and perform basic math calculations Computer experience preferred Strength and endurance is necessary to push the medicine carts back and forth to nursing stations Physical Demands: Standing and walking up to 8 miles a day with intermittent sitting Some pushing, pulling, or lifting (up to 50 lbs) and manual dexterity Hourly Pay Range: $19.84 - $29.76This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare's good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting.     Primary Purpose As a Safety Intern at Mountaire Farms, you will gain hands-on experience in workplace safety and compliance within a dynamic food production environment. You will support key safety initiatives while conducting evaluations of critical processes. Projects will focus on identifying risks, strengthening compliance with OSHA standards, reviewing current onsite chemicals and corresponding Safety Data Sheets, and helping ensure a safe workplace for all employees. Project Highlights * Conduct a review of chemical processes to evaluate handling, storage, and employee safety practices, as well as reviewing chemical Safety Data Sheets. * Assist in evaluating and updating Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, ensuring equipment safety standards are met. * Support Confined Space Hazard Assessments, learning how to identify risks and recommend control measures. * Participate in safety audits, inspections, and walkthroughs alongside plant safety professionals. * Collect and analyze safety data to identify trends and propose improvements. * Gain exposure to OSHA regulations, environmental health standards, and industry best practices. * Collaborate with cross-functional teams (maintenance, operations, and HR) to promote a strong safety culture. Qualifications * Must be currently enrolled and pursuing an associate or bachelor's degree at an accredited college or university. (Preferably in field of study: Occupational Safety and Health experience) * Valid Driver's license * Must pass the Mountaire Motor Vehicle Record check * Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Power Point, and Word • * Work in a team environment, Self-Motivated and accepting of challenges and detail oriented Internship Program Requirements * Complete assigned project identified by department mentor. * Attend weekly seminar series across different Mountaire facilities. * Other duties as assigned. * All interns must be available to travel to Delaware during the last week of the program for final presentations (August 3 to 7, 2026).) * All interns are required to complete a 10-minute presentation on their project at the conclusion of summer. Ability to work from various types of ladders and/or stairs. Exposure to and work in temperatures of less than -40 degrees and 75 degrees with ambient humidity. Noise exposure of 110 db, and light intensity range of 50 to 100 foot candles. Bending, twisting, lifting up to 50 lbs, reaching, sitting, and grasping varies in repetitions, distance, degrees, angle, weight, heights, longest interval of time, objects grasped, and body positions depending upon the maintenance task required. Exposure to chlorinated water (50 ppm, ammonia vapors ) 5 ppm, dry ice, caustic detergents, lubricating oils, hydraulic oils, and other chemicals found in a poultry processing plant.
