The program offers students unique opportunities to contribute to real-world projects and make meaningful industry connections. Program Description: The Humanities Collaborative grant is a partnership between El Paso Community College (EPCC) and the University of Texas at El Paso to work together to strengthen existing ties between the two institutions, to engage in collaborative mentoring of students and faculty across the institutions in humanities research and teaching, and to raise the profile of the humanities in our border region through innovative, student and faculty driven humanities programming. An important outcome of the grant will be an increased flow of humanities students through both institutions. Perform developmental and rotational assignments at community-based internship locations by observing the job functions of assigned workplace contact. Perform and assist workplace contact with job duties, appropriate to the intern's background (education and experience). Assist in coordinating event planning, such as exhibits and concerts. In-person work on campus is an essential function of this position. Serve as a lead worker supporting the SPRC. Engage directly with student parents individually and in groups. Provide information regarding the SPRC and other college support services. Provide weekly student reports to the Family Friendly Manager and the Director of the Office of Student Success. Answer telephone, schedule appointments, greet students, respond to questions or emails, and refer students to other college support services. Develop and distribute information and promotional material to faculty, staff, students, and visitors. Participate in student parent support training, project development, and assessment meetings with the Family Friendly Campus (FFC) Leads, faculty, and other FFC members. Maintain students' records, logs, and databases of student parents' usage in the Student Parent Resources Center, including enforcement of the center's policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: 1. One (1) year of college (30 credit hours) and one (1) year of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. NOTE: A copy of the transcript reflecting this required education MUST be submitted for consideration and reflect completed coursework and degrees conferred. The candidate must be fully qualified for the position at the time of application. 2. Working knowledge of campus programs and services. 3. Experience working with data and compiling reports. 4. Effective interpersonal and (oral and written) communication skills. 5. Experience providing effective customer service. 6. Effective telephone etiquette skills. 7. Effective organizational, planning and multi-tasking skills, and be detail-oriented. 8. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. 9. Proficient computer skills to include internet navigation, Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint. Special Conditions: 1. The El Paso Community College is building a pool of Applicants for part-time staff positions. This pool will be accessed when an opening arises.
