Job Summary:
Interns will take on a variety of projects critical for the development and litigation of potential and current cases, as well as become involved in our constitutional space. They will work closely with Brady lawyers to draft memos, briefs, and reports on assigned topics, conduct research, and delve into some of the most rapidly developing areas of law. They will garner knowledge of several of our current liability cases and amicus portfolio. They will be part of the innovative and academically stimulating environment that helps to create strong gun violence prevention precedent throughout the country.
Our interns will support Brady's impact driven civil lawsuits on behalf of victims, survivors and communities impacted by gun violence. Interns will gain hands-on litigation experience and will support all phases of legal advocacy, including working with victims of gun violence, developing new cases, helping prepare for trial and depositions, assisting with discovery, monitoring and exploring developments in gun violence litigation, participating in strategy sessions, and conducting legal and factual research. Interns will also have the opportunity to help conduct research for amicus briefs, track and analyze constitutional law issues (including the Second Amendment). Finally, our interns will be able to assist in our racial justice research.
Brady is looking for law students who are passionate about gun violence prevention, impact litigation, and racial justice.

Conduct factual and legal research in support of active litigation

VEG's Veterinary Technician Student Externship Program gives vet tech students hands-on experience in emergency medicine while working alongside our credentialed, emergency veterinary technicians. Students will focus on honing their emergency skills including obtaining patient vitals, processing laboratory samples, caring for hospitalized patients, triaging emerging cases, and collaborating in a fast-paced environment. What you'll be doing:

Students participating in the externship program are suggested to review the Veterinary Practice Act in regard to the scope of duties that may be performed, and to be familiar with the type and degree of veterinary supervision that is required. Established in 1978, the Pro Bono Center has become the largest provider of pro bono legal help in the District of Columbia.
The Center serves more than 20,000 individuals, nonprofits, and small businesses each year. With the support of our donors and more than 1,500 dedicated attorney volunteers, we operate award-winning legal clinics, projects, and resource centers where and when the community most needs our help.
This position will support the Advocacy and Justice Clinic (“A&J Clinic)”, which is the full representation litigation program. Founded in 1993, the A&J Clinic provides full representation to pro bono clients in the areas of housing, family, and social security disability law. This position will be supervised by an attorney in the Advocacy & Justice Center.
The legal extern must be enrolled in a for-credit externship program. There is a minimum requirement of 15 hours of work per week over at least 11 weeks. This is an unpaid position. The Pro Bono Center will review and sign contracts necessary for course credit.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Conducts in-depth research on various legal issues, case law, statutes, and regulations. Externs summarize their findings in memoranda or briefs.
Investigates and researches best practices and successful model programs of legal services providers and bar associations, nationally.
Participates in gathering facts and may also assist in drafting client letters or providing legal information.
Performs administrative duties related to case management, such as filing, photocopying, and organizing documents.
Assists Pro Bono Center staff in preparing, executing, and reporting data for various remote and in-person legal clinics.
Attends in-person and virtual legal clinics, and provides support to Pro Bono Center staff, volunteer attorneys, and clients.

Position:
The Clinical Mental Health Intern is responsible for supporting the development, coordination and implementation of programs and activities of the Mental Health program of Generation Hope, including various mental-health related workshops and groups at program events, which may require select weekend hours. The Mental Health Intern works under the supervision of the Senior Mental Health Manager. Intern applicants must be in graduate-level Clinical Mental Health, School Counseling, and Marriage and Family Therapy programs. Clinical Supervision from a licensed professional will be provided on staff. During the internship, the Mental Health Intern will have the opportunity to design and implement a project of their choosing, which could range from creating new mental health resources for Scholars to designing elements of programs, etc.
Clinical Mental Health Interns will work a flexible schedule. Generation Hope operates on a hybrid schedule; with two days in the office per week. The Mental Health Intern will need to have transportation to be able to meet with Scholars and participate in mental health events. Candidates must be able to participate in this internship at least 15 hours weekly; candidates who have later afternoon and evening availability are preferred. Start and end dates are flexible; ideal candidates will be available January 2026-December 2026 and are also able to commit to the internship for their Practicum, Internship I and II semesters.
Duties
Provide supervised direct services to Generation Hope Scholars (and/or Alumni) and their families in accordance with their psychological needs, developmental abilities, and individualized treatment plans; including individual sessions, family sessions, couples sessions, group sessions and psychoeducation workshops.
Maintain proper SOAP notes for each session and complete other clinical documentation such as case conceptualizations, treatment plans, biopsychosocial intakes, and assessments/screenings
Assist in facilitating the non-crisis mental health text line for Generation Hope Scholars
Appropriately track indirect and direct hours on a consistent basis
Engage in outreach initiatives, connecting Generation Hopes Mental Health program with other mental health resources in the DC metro area
Research and network with mental health community resources
Create media content materials for wellness newsletter, etc.
Send out email blasts and mass text messages about mental health programming to Generation Hope Scholars

The Pro Bono Center transforms lives by providing free legal assistance to individuals, nonprofit organizations, and small businesses through volunteer lawyers. Established in 1978, the Pro Bono Center has become the largest provider of pro bono legal help in the District of Columbia.
The Center serves more than 20,000 individuals, nonprofits, and small businesses each year. With the support of our donors and more than 1,500 dedicated attorney volunteers, we operate award-winning legal clinics, projects, and resource centers where and when the community most needs our help.
This position will support the Advocacy and Justice Clinic (“A&J Clinic)”, which is the full representation litigation program. Founded in 1993, the A&J Clinic provides full representation to pro bono clients in the areas of housing, family, and social security disability law. This position will be supervised by an attorney in the Advocacy & Justice Center.
The legal extern must be enrolled in a for-credit externship program. There is a minimum requirement of 15 hours of work per week over at least 11 weeks. This is an unpaid position. The Pro Bono Center will review and sign contracts necessary for course credit.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Intern applicants must be in graduate-level Clinical Mental Health, School Counseling, and Marriage and Family Therapy programs. Clinical Supervision from a licensed professional will be provided on staff. During the internship, the Mental Health Intern will have the opportunity to design and implement a project of their choosing, which could range from creating new mental health resources for Scholars to designing elements of programs, etc.
Clinical Mental Health Interns will work a flexible schedule. Generation Hope operates on a hybrid schedule; with two days in the office per week. The Mental Health Intern will need to have transportation to be able to meet with Scholars and participate in mental health events. Candidates must be able to participate in this internship at least 15 hours weekly; candidates who have later afternoon and evening availability are preferred. Start and end dates are flexible; ideal candidates will be available August 2025 - July 2026 and are also able to commit to the internship for their Practicum, Internship I and II semesters.
Duties
Provide supervised direct services to Generation Hope Scholars (and/or Alumni) and their families in accordance with their psychological needs, developmental abilities, and individualized treatment plans; including individual sessions, family sessions, couples sessions, group sessions and psychoeducation workshops.
Maintain proper SOAP notes for each session and complete other clinical documentation such as case conceptualizations, treatment plans, biopsychosocial intakes, and assessments/screenings
Assist in facilitating the non-crisis mental health text line for Generation Hope Scholars
Appropriately track indirect and direct hours on a consistent basis
Engage in outreach initiatives, connecting Generation Hopes Mental Health program with other mental health resources in the DC metro area
Research and network with mental health community resources
Create media content materials for wellness newsletter, etc.
Send out email blasts and mass text messages about mental health programming to Generation Hope Scholars
Create mental health social media content
Assist Senior Mental Health Manager in facilitating mental health focused workshops
Attend all weekly staff meetings, team meetings, and group supervision when appropriate
Assist Senior Mental Health Manager in organizing current mental health information
Assist Senior Mental Health Manager in creating psychoeducation presentations and therapy workbooks/packets
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in human services or related field from an accredited college or university; pursuing a masters degree in clinical mental health counseling or associated field.
Meeting the practicum/internship requirements for a masters degree in professional counseling from an accredited and approved college or university.
Personal and professional commitment to understanding and dismantling systemic and institutional racism
Willingness to adjust hours to accommodate the needs and schedules of Scholars
Strong interest in young adult, child and family counseling
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs, Google Suites, and Canva (preferred)
Spanish-speaking (plus)
Passion for mental wellness
Strong verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills
Most importantly, the ideal candidate needs to be self-directed and able to carry through projects with little oversight and in a largely remote environment.
