To support our Product Safety, Security and SoTiF team, we are currently looking for an Intern or Working student. In your role you get hands-on experience in Automotive Product Safety & Security and will be an integral part of our team. About the Role
The Athletic is accepting applications for its Leon H. Carter Internship Program for Summer 2026!
The Reporter Video Student Intern will be a vital member of the team, assisting in producing and independently editing video stories featuring The Athletic's reporters. The intern will also work across teams, including working with highlights and social video. A solid background in video editing and visual journalism is required, as well as an interest in all sports The Athletic covers. This is not an on camera position.
Leon H. Carter is the Editor at Large at The Athletic. Prior to joining The Athletic in 2021, he was a VP at ESPN. He also worked 15 years at the NY Daily News. Under his leadership, the NYDN won numerous national awards. In 1993, he helped create the Sports Journalism Institute to improve diversity at media outlets. In 2022, he received the Red Smith Award, one of the highest honors in sports journalism.
This is a remote internship that may require some travel to New York City. Candidates based in New York City have the option of working on-site in the New York office.
The rate of pay for this role is $20.00 USD per hour.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Intensive Home-Based Therapy (IHBT) Intern position is a paid, hourly role at Bellefaire JCB. The role is reserved for graduate students who have reached the internship portion of their Master's programs and have secured a formal trainee license, allowing them to perform clinical duties under the supervision of an authorized, licensed field supervisor. The IHBT Intern provides intensive therapeutic services to families who are experiencing difficulties in response to any number of internal and external stressors. The (IHBT) Intern works a member of a treatment team directed by an IHBT Program Supervisor/ Field Instructor. Services take place in the home and community. Work hours are flexible and must be kept below 20 per week. Some evenings apply.
This position will be based out of our Summit County regional office and will support Summit County specifically.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Assist in the assignment of cases to provide assessments, counseling/psychotherapy, and community support program services for clients, their families, and with significant others as needed, including: community organizations, schools, other health and social service professionals, the justice system, and other agencies involved with the client.
Provide the following services, including, but not limited to:
Family and individual counseling
Substance abuse counseling
Family education
Family and individual skill trainings

Contribute to the development and maintenance of the clinical record through the timely completion of assigned documentation in accordance with applicable licensing and accreditation regulations and standards.
Responsible for timely termination/evaluation letters.
Provide advocacy and liaison work with schools, the justice system, social services, health services, and like agencies as needed.
Provide culturally competent clinical services, including but not necessarily limited to: biopsychosocial assessments, treatment plans and reviews, individual counseling, group counseling, family therapy, aftercare planning, and termination reports.
Adhere to Agency/ACS/ NASW codes of conduct and ethics. Adhere to Learning Contract as designed by Student and Field Instructor.
Attend all scheduled staff meetings, supervision, and on-going training.
All required trainings, certifications and licensure must be kept current in accordance with applicable licensing and accreditation regulations and standards.
Contribute to the development and maintenance of the clinical record through the timely completion of assigned documentation in accordance with applicable licensing and accreditation regulations and standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Minimum current Master's student in Social Work, Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy required.

Experience: At least one semester of clinical fieldwork and/ or substantive professional clinical experience required.

The Committee for Public Counsel Services (CPCS) is the state agency in Massachusetts responsible for providing an attorney when the state or federal constitution or a state statute requires the appointment of an attorney for a person who cannot afford to retain one. The agency provides representation in criminal, delinquency, youthful offender, child welfare, guardianship, mental health, sexually dangerous person, and sex offender registry cases, as well as in appeals and post-conviction and post-judgment proceedings related to those matters.
YOUTH ADVOCACY DIVISION OVERVIEW
Youth Advocacy Division (YAD) Trial Offices
Interns will work with lawyers committed to ensuring that every child in Massachusetts had access to zealous legal representation, which incorporates a Positive Youth Development approach, in delinquency and youthful offender cases. Interns will assist lawyers and work closely with social workers to represent juveniles. YAD provides effective representation in court as well as educational advocacy and individualized referrals to community-based resources. This unit will provide interns with a wide range of opportunities, including, but not limited to, legal research and writing, arraignment and bail advocacy, pretrial investigations including visiting crime scenes, and locating and interviewing witnesses.
Juvenile Appeals Unit
Interns will assist Youth Advocacy Division Appellate attorneys who oversee a panel of skilled and zealous private lawyers representing clients in two distinct types of assignments: direct appeals and screenings. These assignments arise from delinquency, youthful offender and juvenile murder cases. We collaborate with the adult Private Counsel Criminal Post Conviction and Appeals Unit on "emerging adult" cases, where individuals were between the ages of 18 and 25 at the time the offense was committed. Interns will have the opportunity to do legal research and writing, policy discussions, and assist in developing and implementing trainings.

Fall River was once the leading textile manufacturer center in the country and maintains the world's largest collection of World War II naval vessels at Battleship Cove. New Bedford is home to the Whaling National Historic Park. Hyannis is known as the gateway to esteemed Cape Cod and is home to the iconic Kennedy family compound. The area offers beautiful sand beaches, numerous state parks, and quaint towns with picturesque harbors.

NORTHEAST REGION
The Northeast Region is filled with history. Lowell is known as the birthplace of the American Industrial Revolution and is known for its textile manufacturing with many of these historic manufacturing sites preserved by the National Park Service. During the Cambodian genocide, the city took in an influx of refugees, leading to Lowell having the second largest Cambodian-American population in the country. During the American Revolution, the citizenry of Malden were heavily involved in the early resistance of the oppression of Britain and was the first town to petition the colonial government to withdraw from the British Empire. Malden is five miles northwest of Boston and conveniently accessible from the Orange Line. Salem is one of the most significant seaports in early American history and it is well-known for its role as the location of the Salem Witch Trials.

WEST REGION
The West Region has a diverse topography from the Berkshire Mountains to the banks of the Connecticut River. The region is home to 22 colleges/universities which is the 2nd highest concentration of higher learning institutions aside from the Boston Metropolitan area. The area has long been patronized by artists and is recognized for the Eric Carle Museum, Tanglewood, and Norman Rockwell Museum. The area is famous for all of its "first innovations" including basketball, volleyball, American gas-powered automobile, motorcycle company, commercial radio station, use of integrated parts in manufacturing, railroad sleep car, and the American dictionary. The city of Worcester became a center for the American Revolution that was recognized for his industry and as a result attracted many immigrants of European descent. The city of Springfield was designated by George Washington for an Armory that became the site of Shay's Rebellion and is now a national park and site to the world's largest collection of historic American firearms. The city played a pivotal role in the Civil War as a stop for the Underground Railroad.

CENTRAL REGION
The Central Region is famous for its rich history. Boston is not only the capital of the Commonwealth but one of the oldest municipalities in the United States and the scene of several significant events in the American Revolution, such as the Boston Massacre, the Boston Tea Party, Battle of Bunker Hill, and the Siege of Boston. It was a port and manufacturing hub and a center of education and culture, as well as home to the first public park, public school, and subway system in the United States. The area is home to professional sports teams, including Boston Bruins, Boston Celtics, and the Boston Red Sox. Roxbury is known to serve as the "heart of black culture in Boston" and is home to an extremely diverse population.
