During this fourteen-week rotational internship program, you will have the opportunity to learn more about Claims, Agency, Marketing, the Public Policy and Commodity Division of Michigan Farm Bureau and Underwriting while receiving a realistic job preview of each area. Agency Intern is a part of the Agricultural Insurance Internship. The Agricultural Insurance Internship is a partnership between five different departments within Michigan Farm Bureau Family of Companies. Interns who are a part of the Agricultural Insurance Internship will get to have unique experiences in our Claims, Underwriting, Marketing, Agency and Public Policy & Commodity Division spaces. While you will be hired into one space, you will go through rotational Wednesdays, where you spend each Wednesday within one of the five departments listed in the Agricultura Insurance Internship.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist multi-line agent(s) and their staff with daily agency operations.
Prospect and recruit potential insurance clients.
Attend marketing events and distribute information and promotional materials on behalf of agency as needed.
Face-to-face interaction with Agent Staff, Agents, Managing Partners, and insureds.
Assist crop team with day-to-day operations as needed.
Gain an understanding of key functions through on the job training and development.
Collaborate with department staff to contribute on various processes and projects.

Undertake special assignments as instructed by department manager.

QUALIFICATIONS
Property Casualty license preferred, opportunity to become P/C licensed is available with internship.

Fellows will work and communicate with a Hispanic Access Program Associate during their fellowship. Fellows will be expected to participate in scheduled conference calls, webinars, and meetings conducted throughout their term. General Internship at C2AE Salary Range: $17-25/ hour (depending on experience) C2AE is a growing team made up of technical and creative people who love design. Our team is full-service, able to deliver the complete architecture, infrastructure and engineering package, and specializes in the markets of education, government, healthcare and manufacturing. We are looking for passionate problem solvers who are eager to collaborate on projects to improve the built environment and the world we live in.
The primary role of an Intern is to assist with consultation, investigation, evaluation and planning, design, design review and approval, and/or determination of environmental and safety impacts of work processes in various projects for our Government, Education and Manufacturing clients. Interns will be assigned a work mentor who will guide daily activities and technology resources.
This posting will remain open at all times. Once there are available internship opportunities, hiring managers will review the applicants for their discipline. Applications will stay on file for six months, they will then be made inactive. Candidates will be notified when their application moves to inactive status and will be encouraged to apply again if still interested in an internship at C2AE.
Responsibilities
Based on your desired discipline, you will participate either in design (engineering/architecture) or non-design (business/office administration) work. Below is a general summary of what can be expected for responsibilities during an internship.
Design Disciplines (90%)
* Assist with evaluating, selecting and applying standard techniques and procedures.
* Assist with reviewing designs for compliance with codes and specifications.
* Access and use software to provide assistance with drafting, designing, detailing, and modifying engineering project designs and plans utilizing firm specifications.
* May provide assistance with proposals and presentations.
* Visit construction sites including in inclement weather (hot/cold)
* On site work can include use of testing equipment
* Other related duties as assigned.
Non-Design Disciplines (90%)
* Assist with business support functions in the areas of human resources, accounting, marketing or information technology.
* Assist with the maintenance and upgrade of business systems.
* Assist with various reporting and data management.

Administrative (10%)
* Participate in team meetings, all staff meetings, and other non-billable planning sessions.
