Schedule
Generally, the hours for this position are Monday through Thursday, 7:30 - 5:30 pm; Friday, 8:00 am - 12:00 pm with a one-hour lunch. The individual holding this position may need to be available early morning, evening, and on weekends to meet the needs of the department. Hours worked may differ with some departments.

Primary Purpose: This position is designed as a one-year internship with an assigned ECISD principal to engage in daily opportunities to learn and apply the skills and competencies required to lead high-achieving schools
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Master's degree in educational administration
Texas principal or other appropriate Texas certificate
Certified T-TESS appraiser
Experience:
Three years of experience as a certified classroom teacher
Three years of Certified Assistant Principal experience- preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Instructional Management
Lead instructional and managerial processes to ensure that learning activities are aligned to district and school expectations
School Culture
Develop and implement systems for positive student and staff culture focused on high expectations for excellence and student achievement.
Continuous Improvement
Use multiple sources of data to identify areas of need and implement action plans for improvement.
Personnel Management
Collaborate with principal on interviewing, selecting, and orienting new staff.
Observe principal in the process for recommendations to superintendent on termination, suspension, or nonrenewal of employees assigned to campus.
T-TESS Evaluations for assigned teachers
Management of Fiscal, Administrative, and Facilities Functions
Partner with principal to develop campus budget based on documented program needs, estimated enrollment, personnel, and other fiscal needs. Keep programs within budget limits. Maintain fiscal control. Accurately report fiscal information.
Manage use of school facilities. Supervise maintenance of facilities to ensure a clean, orderly, and safe campus.
Student Management
Ensure that school rules are uniformly observed and that student discipline is appropriate and equitable in accordance with Student Code of Conduct and Student Handbook.
Professional Growth and Development
Participate in professional learning activities designed for both the principal position and principal inter position.
School or Community Relations
Demonstrate awareness of school and community needs and initiate activities to meet those needs.
Use appropriate and effective techniques to encourage community and parent involvement.

What you'll bring:
Must be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree during the length of the program.
Commit to working at least 16-24 hours per week during business hours with some evening availability.
Strong academic record.
Access to own housing and transportation to/from the assigned internship site.
Must be comfortable working with children and adults of various ages, socioeconomic backgrounds, cultures, and religious beliefs.
Able to give clear written and verbal instructions to people.
Bilingual in Spanish is preferred but not required.

Qualifications:

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Provide counseling support services to at-risk students;
Identify and provide support services to students and families who are homeless;
Conduct student presentations through various designated classes (i.e., Health, Physical Education, Teen Leadership…) to familiarize them with the Student Assistance Services Program;
Provide crisis intervention services throughout the district as needed;
Provide suicidal assessments for students expressing suicidal ideation and make appropriate referrals;
Provide support services to at-risk students with attendance, discipline, substance abuse and other related issues, in order to prevent drop outs;
Assist at-risk students with educational guidance and support;
Assist with the provision of in-service training of school district staff concerning identification of homeless students and other topics that impact at-risk students;
Assist the district in revising and implementing policies that impact at-risk students, provide onsite counseling for at-risk students who violate district policies;
Facilitate the transition of at-risk students from the Disciplinary Alternative Education Center and community learning environments, such as residential treatment or juvenile justice programs to their home campus;
Be an active team member in school activities to increase awareness of the Student Assistance Services program and maintain and develop effective working relationships with school staff;
Coordinate the implementation of programs and events targeting the needs of at-risk students offered in the district;
Serve as the coordinator for student support teams at the campus level;
Serve as an information resource for counseling support and materials;
Refer at-risk families to appropriate community resources;
Collaborate with at-risk students' family members to address academic, behavioral, social and mental health issues;
Participate in individual case conferencing with teachers, parents, school counselors, student support team members, and administrators;
Maintain an on-going dialogue with courts, probation officers, local law enforcement officials and other community agencies;
Provide principals and director of counseling with monthly reports;
Collect and report annual data to campus principal and director of counseling;
