What you will be doing:
The Preclinical Formulation department located in San Diego, CA is responsible for serving the Chemistry team and preparing Vertex medicines for dosing. To execute this function, we run benchtop experiments to understand how the compounds may translate to animal models. The focus of this position is on automating one of these experiments using a liquid/solid handling robot. We are looking for an enthusiastic intern to learn the robot software, code the workflow, and execute the experiment in simulation/real. The project will conclude with a PowerPoint and/or poster presentation to the site on findings.
Key responsibilities include:
Learning the day-to-day experiments of preclinical formulation experimentation
Running benchtop experiments using a wide variety of wet lab instruments including but not limited to pipettes, centrifuges, pH meters and analytical equipment
Learning liquid/solid handling software and hardware
Designing/coding liquid handling workflow
What you will need to succeed:
Enrolled in an undergraduate (Junior or Senior preferred but will consider underclass applicants with extensive experience) or graduate degree program and majoring in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related scientific field.
Wet lab experience (pipetting, pH meter use, proper lab safety)
Basic coding knowledge (logic, loops, variable understanding and function understanding)
Excellent communication and presentation skills

To execute this function, we run benchtop experiments to understand how the compounds may translate to animal models. Job Description
The Omni Cares Food & Beverage Internship position provides a hands-on training opportunity for future hospitality leaders to learn various aspects of the hotel business.
Responsibilities
Adhere to all hotel and food and beverage departmental policies and procedures.
Staff and operate as business demands and schedule accordingly. Ensure a high level of professionalism in the department.
Communicate hotel information, events, etc. to the food & beverage staff.
Ensure accuracy of cash handling, inventory control, proper ringing of all products, and awareness of theft.
Evaluating and pre-planning and being prepared for large groups and special functions including holidays.
Operate restaurant's special events, coordinating staffing and service.
Promote guest service to all guests in the outlets, problem solver and leader by example.
Opening and closing duties.
Attend to and anticipate guest's needs.
Demonstrate adaptability and flexibility in scheduling.
Demonstrate excellent teamwork.
Attend weekly Omni Care Internship trainings and enrichment seminars through the summer season.

About the Role:Neurocrine Biosciences, Inc. (NASDAQ: NBIX) is offering the opportunity to gain clinical science experience in the world of biotechnology. Our intern program offers exposure to the drug development process in rare disease. Requirements:
Pursuing an undergraduate degree with an interest in biotechnology and/or clinical science

Comfortable with analyzing and summarizing data, working in excel or other similar data programs
Familiarity with biopharmaceutical technologies, physical and life sciences, product development, and regulatory approval processes is desirable
Ability to work independently with daily check-ins while working collaboratively with Neurocrine staff

VEG's Veterinary Technician/Nursing Student Externship Program gives vet tech/nursing students hands-on experience in emergency medicine while working alongside our credentialed, emergency veterinary technicians. Students will focus on honing their emergency skills including obtaining patient vitals, processing laboratory samples, caring for hospitalized patients, triaging emerging cases, and collaborating in a fast-paced environment. Notes: Unless you are already employed by us, this is an unpaid externship. Rabies vaccinations are required for all externs (even if you are already employed by us) since you may be handling pets with an unknown rabies vaccination status. This application is always open to collect interest in an externship but your selected hospital may not always be able to accept students.
