The Division of Student Affairs advances the educational mission of the university through resources and experiences outside the classroom that prepare our students for lifelong success. The Director of Religious, Spiritual & Ethical Life supports the Center for Diversity & Inclusion within the Division of Student Affairs, providing leadership for student-focused programs and services that promote spiritual well-being, religious literacy, interfaith engagement, and ethical development. The Director works closely with students and campus partners to foster a respectful and inclusive environment for individuals of all faiths and philosophical backgrounds. Job Description Primary Duties & Responsibilities: * Coordinate and deliver programs and services that support student learning and engagement around religious, ethical, and spiritual life. Promote religious literacy and interfaith understanding through events, workshops, and student leadership opportunities such as the Interfaith Fellows and the Interfaith Leadership Council. Advise student organizations including the Interfaith Alliance and assist with the Isserman Lectures and Prizes. Work with grants such as Interfaith America grant programs among others to support this work. * Serve as liaison to Religious, Spiritual & Ethical Life Affiliates, facilitating communication between affiliates and university departments. Manage affiliate agreements and coordinate affiliate involvement in key university programs such as orientation, holiday observances, and religious accommodations. * Provide spiritual care to students of any or no religious background. Offer confidential support, coordinate spiritual wellness programming, and maintain reflection and prayer spaces on campus. * Collaborate with campus partners to integrate religious, spiritual, and ethical programming into broader diversity and student development efforts. Work with offices including the Center for Diversity & Inclusion, the Gephardt Institute, and academic departments to support cross-cultural understanding and values-based engagement. * Support university ceremonies and events by offering reflections and presence during ecumenical, interfaith, and public ritual occasions. Assist during moments of campus celebration, grief, or crisis as needed. * Performs other duties as assigned.     Job Description Dean of Students ReGeneration Schools, founded in 2016, is a nationally ranked charter program with seven charter schools located in Illinois and Ohio. ReGeneration serves over 1800 students of whom 99% are minority and 86% are low income. U.S. News and World Report's 2021 School Ranking listed all ReGeneration elementary schools among the top ten charter elementary schools in Illinois. ReGeneration expanded to Ohio in 2019, opening its Bond Hill campus in 2019. ReGeneration is expanding in Ohio, adding two more campuses effective July 2023. We are seeking an ambitious Dean of Students to join our Ohio team. This individual will collaborate with fellow staff members to create a learner-centered, friendly and safe school environment. This individual must have a proven track record of articulating high expectations and promoting a shared vision and mission of excellence. The Dean of Students will play an integral part in developing a sense of shared ownership school partners and creating strong ties with the community we serve. Demonstrate initiative and creativity. Organized and ability to multi-task. Communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing. Strong interpersonal skills with students, parents, school team, and community members. Minimum of two years teaching experience in an urban district or charter school setting. Bachelor degree from an accredited institution required. Master's degree preferred. Responsibilities: As a member of the school's administrative team, provide leadership to all staff and students in establishing a positive, structured, achievement-oriented, and fun school culture. Establish consistent standards and structures around discipline and behavior management. Collaborate with school administrators to identify discipline and safety goals, objectives and metrics. Contribute to the evaluation of behavioral specialists Establish protocols for consistent communication of discipline data with relevant stakeholders to ensure safe passage for students (school administrators, parents, teachers, students). Lead parent and student orientations around campus discipline and expectations. Great verbal communication skills, time management and organization skills, and exceptional customer service. Exercise good judgment when responding to safety and security violations and emergencies. Exercise dignity and respect when interacting with students at all times. Institute and reinforce high discipline standard among faculty and students. Modeling the school's values and the standard for professional behavior. Manage and patrol school ground to ensure safety and security of students and staff. Monitor student attendance and ensure that attendance is entered daily into Impact. Develop positive rapport with school staff and students to contribute to working conditions conducive to building a professional learning community. Create and follow protocols for the safe and orderly entry, exit and movement of students throughout the school grounds. Collaborate with leadership teams in behavioral crisis management and acute behavioral issues. Proactively circulating throughout classrooms and hallways during the day, to gain valuable context on student behavior and help support positive school culture. Supervising breakfast, lunch, in-between class transitions, enrichment, and dismissal, making sure students are always where they are supposed to be and ensuring a professional school culture at these times. Keep extremely accurate student discipline records, documenting all conferences, suspensions, and phone calls for behavior. Consult resources to address social and emotional/health issues that may impact student performance/behavior. Highly present and visible during school hours, relentlessly ensuring the school has an amazing school culture. Developing and implementing plans ensuring all students do their homework (ensuring homework is checked each morning and keep accurate homework completion records). Coordinate student apologies and school culture messages at morning circles and community town meetings. Conduct daily phone calls to parents to ensure uniform compliance. The Dean has responsibility for overseeing the College functions of Advising, Records, Career Services, and Student Life. The Dean plans, implements, and evaluates student success initiatives in collaboration with the Dean of Academic Affairs and Vice President of Academic Affairs. Specific Responsibilities: 1. Provide leadership for and supervision of each assigned function in student services and collaborate with others across the College community regarding those functions. 2. Act as the lead for student retention and completion initiatives: a. Sets and realizes student persistence/retention goals. b. Works directly with faculty and staff for the purpose of maximizing retention of students. c. Designs, implements, evaluates, and oversees the College retention plan. d. Identifies, implements, and evaluates new and/or revised strategies to maximize retention of new and returning students. 3. Works closely with faculty and the Marketing Department to update the website with the latest information related to programs of study. 4. Directs the planning, implementation, and evaluation of new student orientations. 5. Develops and maintains communications with enrolled students via telephone, written correspondence, texts, and social media. 6. Directs, in collaboration with others, student co-curricular activities which complement and enhance the academic programming of the college and enrich the development and experience of students. 7. Attends and actively participates in open houses and other campus activities. 8. Provide supervision and support for the transfer and articulation functions of the college in collaboration with the Dean of Academic Affairs. 9. In conjunction with the Dean of Academic Affairs, oversee the advising and counseling of students concerning academic and disciplinary problems, resolving student conduct issues per College policies and procedures. 10. Document student complaints per the Higher Learning Commission compliance regulations and serves as the contact for student concerns and complaints that have risen to the administrative level. 11. Oversee student services operations at all locations. 12. Monitor and evaluate applicable budgets. 13. Participates in the shared governance system of the College. 14. Supervisory responsibilities as assigned by the Vice President of Academic Affairs. 15. Serves as the Title II officer at Belmont College. 16.
