    About the Job MedStar Georgetown University Hospital (MGUH), a nationally recognized academic medical center, is seeking an experienced Nurse Navigator to join our Radiation Oncology team. This role is critical in guiding patients and families through the complex cancer care continuum while ensuring timely, coordinated, and compassionate care. About the Role The Nurse Navigator serves as a central point of contact for patients referred for radiation therapy, coordinating care across diagnosis, treatment, follow-up, and survivorship. This role partners closely with Radiation Oncology physicians, Medical Oncology, Radiology, clinical research teams, and referring providers to support optimal clinical outcomes and an exceptional patient experience. Schedule: Monday-Friday, with one day remote Key Responsibilities * Coordinate intake, assessment, triage, and navigation for patients referred for radiation therapy * Serve as a liaison for referring physicians and internal clinical teams * Facilitate patient evaluations by coordinating services across Radiation Oncology, Medical Oncology, Radiology, and other MGUH departments * Guide patients and caregivers through diagnosis, treatment planning, clinical trials, and survivorship * Educate patients and families on treatment options, procedures, resources, and support services * Identify and support appropriate patient participation in clinical trials, including informed consent and specimen coordination * Communicate patient progress and care plans to interdisciplinary care teams * Participate in Oncology Tumor Boards and support outcomes data collection * Assist with regulatory and IRB communications as needed * Collaborate with physicians and marketing partners on program development, education materials, and community outreach Qualifications Required: * Bachelor's degree in Nursing * Active RN license * 3-4 years of clinical nursing experience * Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and ability to work collaboratively across disciplines Preferred: * Master's degree in Nursing * Experience in oncology care settings (surgical, inpatient, outpatient, or community oncology) * Familiarity with clinical trials, patient education, and care coordination Why Join MedStar Georgetown University Hospital * Work within a prestigious academic medical center known for excellence in cancer care * Be part of a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary oncology team * Make a meaningful impact on patients and families during critical moments of care * Access professional development, research collaboration, and career growth opportunities within MedStar Health Apply today to join a team where your expertise, advocacy, and leadership will make a difference.
