OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital is hiring a full-time registered Radiation Therapist in the Radiation Oncology department. Hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm. This is a large and busy Radiation Oncology department located in two locations within the hospital and requires a therapist to be on call for add on or urgent cases. Call is rotated on a weekly basis among the 11 therapists. The department consists of three Linear Accelerators and two CTs. They also provide High Dose Rate Brachytherapy in the department. Delivers radiation therapy treatments as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist. Prepares patients for a course of Radiation Therapy inclusive of simulation, dose calculations and acquiring of treatment parameters. Responsibilities And Duties: 35% Administers Radiation Therapy treatments on a daily basis. 20% Maintains daily record of treatment, inclusive of daily dosages and calculations and other necessary treatment records. 5% Performs simulations, acquires treatment parameters, patient contours and dose calculations. 10% Therapists who are scheduled to work 80 hours per pay, may be required to be on-call for weekends and holidays on a rotating basis. 10% Maintains patient schedules for In-Patients and Out-Patients communicates frequently with families and hospital personnel to maintain schedule coordination and accommodate patients as best as possible. 10% Monitors patient Condition and progress on a daily basis. i.e., patient weighs, skin care, reaction, etc. . 5% Assists Radiation Oncologist in performance of Brachytherapy procedures. Oversees and directs clinical activities of Radiation Therapy Technology students. Provides clinical insight to Radiologic Technology students, nursing students, etc. as needed. 5% Participates in Department Clinical QA activities, new patient conference, tumor board and QRM. Minimum Qualifications: Associate's Degree: Radiologic Technology (Required) ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association, DL - Driver's License - Department of Motor Vehicles, LIC - Licensed in Field - State of Ohio Additional Job Description: Registered with the ARRT and licensed to practice in the State of Ohio, graduate of approved Radiation Therapy Technology Training Program. Summary: The Lead Radiation Therapist is the supervisor over the Radiation Therapy team at Riverside Methodist Hospital Radiation Oncology. They are responsible for maintaining adequate staff levels and making sure all the LINAC machines are well staffed. They maintain and prepare the daily schedule and the call schedule for our team. They partner with the providers and the nursing team to deliver high quality care to our patients and are the connecting link between the Radiation Therapy team and the department manager. They are responsible for addressing the immediate concerns of the radiation therapy team and escalating them when appropriate. They maintain a high quality of care by reviewing charts and making sure all the required parameters and hard stops are in place. They participate in the Quality Review Meetings and address any quality concerns with the Radiation Therapy team. They are also involved in system meetings aimed to improve the quality of care at a system level. When not working on administrative duties, the Lead Radiation Therapist will also be involved in treatments at the LINAC or coordinate the patient appointments at the SIM CT, depending on their rotation assignment. Responsibilities And Duties: 10% With regards to the radiation therapist activities, the Lead Therapist oversees and verifies the accuracy and completeness of patient charts and department QA records, such as morning linac QA, routine imaging, and treatment documentation. 5% Assures appropriate supply inventories are maintained for the treatment areas. 5% Oversees the radiation therapist time off requests, treatment rotations, and on-call schedule ensuring appropriate staffing levels are maintained. 10% Assists the department manager with operational needs. 10% Evaluates the radiation therapists with regards to their technical competencies and ensures that their annual licenses and OhioHealth competencies are completed timely. 5% Provides input to manager for yearly staff evaluations for each radiation therapist. 5% Obtains budget needs for the therapy department and assists Manager with budget preparation. 50% Performs the duties of a Radiation Therapist Reg in conjunction to performing the administrative role of the Lead Therapist.     Requirements QUALIFICATIONS: Associate's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology or closely related field required, Bachelor's or Master's degree preferred. Ohio clinical licensure (such as LSW, LISW, LPC, LPCC), and/or Ohio substance use licensure (LCDCIII or LICDC) is required. Position requires a working knowledge of the DSM-5-TR, family dynamics, and of various psychotherapy modalities and techniques. Position requires an ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary agency team, to communicate and relate effectively with individuals of all ages and families, understanding the Recovery model and working in this model with families, and to be sensitive and attentive to the cultural needs of each client and family.
