At our Sawmill Campus, we are building a dynamic Next Gen team that connects children and students to Jesus, nurtures family faith at home, and raises up empowered volunteer leaders for lifelong ministry.
Role Summary
The Next Gen Coordinator leads and implements student ministry (grades 6-12) at the Sawmill Campus. This full-time role is responsible for recruiting and equipping high-capacity volunteers, shaping age-appropriate programming, and discipling the next generation in alignment with the mission and values of Vineyard Columbus.
Key Responsibilities
Student Ministry Leadership (Primary Focus)
Oversee leadership of all student programming (weekly middle and high school programming, including Student Night, Middle and High School Sunday morning programming).
Build meaningful relationships with students and families, offering care, discipleship, and connection to the life of the church.
Equip and empower volunteer leaders to disciple students, lead small groups, and serve in significant ministry roles.
Develop and maintain a welcoming, fun, and spiritually formative environment for students of all backgrounds.
Collaborate with the Central VC Students team to align with church-wide strategy, curriculum, and events (e.g., Culture Conference, camps).
Volunteer Recruitment & Leadership Development
Identify, recruit, and train high-level volunteers for Next Gen ministry.
Foster a culture of leadership multiplication-empowering volunteers to lead, teach, and pastor others.
Provide ongoing support, encouragement, and development for volunteers through coaching, gatherings, and feedback.
Operational and Administrative Excellence
Oversee scheduling, communication, attendance tracking, and safety protocols in collaboration with campus and central staff.
Ensure all ministry documentation, planning, and communications are organized and up to date.
Participate fully as a member of the Sawmill Campus staff team-contributing to campus events, outreach, and leadership meetings.
Kids Ministry Support (as needed)
Partner with the part-time Kids Coordinator to ensure excellence in Next Gen programming and volunteer experience.
Assist with curriculum planning on an annual basis.
Serve as a strategic partner to maintain alignment across Next Gen ministries.
What We're Looking For
At least 3 years of experience in student ministry or Next Gen leadership
Proven track record of recruiting and equipping high-level volunteers
Strong administrative and organizational skills; ability to manage details and systems
Excellent communicator, team player, and relational connector
Experience working with diverse, multicultural populations
Solid biblical foundation and a growing relationship with Jesus
Willingness to work Sundays and some evenings, as well as key holidays and student events

Job Description:
SUMMARY
Provides academic support, coaching for academic success, and activities that foster a sense of belonging in a college setting for First Jennings CCP Scholars program. Serves as liaison and connects students to personal, academic, and career support services. Conducts individual and group program-engagement sessions. Collaborates with Tri-C staff, College Credit Plus Coordinators, CCP faculty, College counselors, and high school counselors and personnel to ensure optimum student support. Provides mentorship and coaching for success.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
* Utilizes mentoring and coaching skills to increase student motivation and commitment to completing a degree
* Facilitates connections to campuswide resources, including hubs affiliated with Early College Opportunities
* Facilitates and organizes opportunities for students to participate in individual and group program-engagement sessions
* Serves as liaison and connects students to personal, academic, and career support services
* Monitors participants' academic progress and refers to the counseling department as needed
* Assists students with completing financial aid and scholarship applications, writing essays/papers, connecting to academic support, and informing students of program offerings
* Conducts individual and group program-engagement sessions
* Conducts outreach to First Jennings Scholars taking courses off-site in high schools or fully online
* Facilitates supplemental skill-building concepts for students enrolled in high-risk courses
* Meets regularly with staff for participant and program evaluations
* Works collaboratively with the Counseling department to ensure deliberate and attentive student referrals when needed
* Meets with CCP faculty regarding student progress and course content/materials, as needed
* May attend College-wide meetings, workshops, and conferences as directed
* Assists with metric tracking and report preparation
* Supervises work-study students
* Performs other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
* Bachelor's Degree in a related field
* Minimum of two years of demonstrated experience advising, counseling, and/or teaching at the secondary or post-secondary level
* Demonstrated experience making sound decisions that affect a work unit or team
* Demonstrated experience in a role requiring diverse problem-solving methods in a variety of situations
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES
* Ability to travel between campuses and worksites to ensure student and programmatic support
* Demonstrated knowledge of student support concepts, practices and procedures, and ability to use in varied situations

About the Role Vineyard Columbus is seeking a passionate and organized Student Coordinator to join our New Albany Campus team. This role is central to creating dynamic, faith-building environments for middle and high school students, fostering a welcoming community, and developing strong volunteer leaders.
What You'll Do
Lead Programs: Direct Middle School Sunday mornings and weekly Student Nights. Participate in monthly all-campus student events, including big gatherings like Culture Conference and Summer Camp.
Develop Leaders: Recruit, train, and equip volunteers to serve in student ministry. Empower team leaders to take ownership and lead well.
Coordinate Operations: Manage schedules, communications, supplies, and event logistics. Keep accurate records, handle budgeting needs, and support ministry goals through organized administration.
