The TRIO Navigator plays an essential role in advancing the mission of the federally funded TRIO SSS program by providing holistic academic support and guidance to eligible students. TRIO SSS, funded by the U.S Department of Education, is designed to increase college success for first-generation, low-income students, and students with disabilities. The Navigator will support students academically persist, graduate, and transfer to four-year institutions. This includes assisting students with clarification of academic and life goals, creating individualized success planning, monitoring progress, and connecting students to college and community resources. The Navigator will also collaborate across campus departments to advance RTC's Be the Place Strategic Equity Plan and commitment to studentsuccess.
The TRIO Navigator is represented by the Renton Professional Technical Association (Prof-Tech) union. This is a full-time, classified, and overtime eligible position reporting to the Director of TRIO SSS in the Division of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. The pay range for this role is $65,673 - $84,489 annually. Salary placement will not exceed step 4 ($70,118) due to funding. Additional information can be found on our benefits page and in the Collective Bargaining Agreement. This role is grant funded and is contingent upon sustained grant funding. The priority consideration date for this position is January 16, 2026. This position will remain open until filled.

* Support students in identifying and cultivating educational and career goals through strengths-based conversations and individualized coaching.
* Recruit, train, and supervise TRIO student tutors who provide specialized tutoring services to program participants.
* Assist with recruitment, eligibility screening, and intake of new SSS participants. Manage a program caseload of 140 students.
* Conduct regular check-ins and progress monitoring in coordination with the TRIO Director.
* Develop and support students holistically through the implementation of individualized success plans.
* Identify academic, financial, and personal barriers impacting studentsuccess; provide proactive interventions and referrals.
* Connect students with tutoring, disability accommodation services, financial aid, workforce education programs, academic advising, and basic needs support.
* Help students build college navigation skills (registration, financial aid processes, transfer steps, etc.).
* Utilize student information platforms such as CTC Link, EAB Navigate and TRIO specific platform to track academic progress and facilitate follow-up to ensure consistent student support.
* Provide information and referrals to both college and community programs and services. Assist students with accessing external benefits and resources as appropriate.
* Maintain strong partnerships with community agencies related to housing, employment, healthcare, food access, and other support services.
* Develop and facilitate TRIO centered workshops and events designed to develop and enhance academic goals.
* Coordinate program sponsored college visits and academic enrichment activities.
* Maintain accurate student records in compliance with federal program guidelines and college policies.
* Contribute to data collection and reporting for the TRIO Annual Performance Report (APR).
* Collaborate closely with campus departments and represent TRIO in student-focused events and meetings.
* Perform other related projects and assignments as assigned.
* Experience with persons from diverse backgrounds such as sexual orientation, racial, ethnic, religious, linguistic, gender, age, socio-economic, physical and learning abilities, and a commitment to an inclusive and equitable working / learning environment.
* Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Working hours are generally aligned to business hours, Monday - Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work is required. Work is mostly sedentary in nature, performed in an office environment. Frequent use of a computer and exposure to terminal screens is required. Work and meetings may take place across campus. May drive/travel to trainings, conferences, and/or college events. This is mostly an in-person/on-campus position; remote work may occur as business permits.

Position Summary Information
Summary
Responsible for creating and maintaining relationships with individual students that promote student satisfaction and retention. The StudentSuccess Coach I (SSC 1) meets the non-classroom support needs of students by providing direct solutions to student-related problems, where possible, and by acting as a relationship manager to ensure campus partners provide effective solutions when not within the SSC 1's scope. The SSC 1 is the student's principal, if not exclusive, point of contact in the institution, and as such, is responsible for addressing student issues and complaints as they arise. They serve as a student liaison with other functional areas of the organization and assist in developing and maintaining practices that contribute to student satisfaction and retention. They work as part of the retention team under the direct supervision of an Assistant or Associate Director within the University StudentSuccess Coaching Program. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

* Serve as the students' non-faculty primary point of University contact, develop and build supportive relationships with students through virtual and in-person modalities and efficiently track, trend, and assess student needs.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: MedCerts, a Stride, Inc. Summary
The Navy's Sailor Assistance and Intercept for Life (SAIL) program was designed to allow for command support and involvement throughout a Sailor's recovery following a suicide-related incident to optimize successful reintegration and to ensure mission readiness. Through a series of voluntary caring client contacts with SAIL Case Managers, SAIL monitors a Sailor's healing progress by using evidence-based tools at various stages of his/her recovery. SAIL may also increase a Sailor's compliance with existing treatment through monitoring and command support while empowering the Sailor to strengthen their coping skills and build resilience. SAIL provides rapid-assistance clinical case management services addressing risk management, care coordination and reintegration assistance for Sailors identified during the period of highest risk after an event involving suicidal thoughts or behaviors.
SAIL Case Managers shall telework full-time, from contractor approved locations, but must be physically located within the local commuting area of a miliary installation for the purpose of CAC issuance. SAIL case managers may be asked to provide surge support to other regions virtually, and in times of crisis may be required to travel to provide clinical support to clients on site.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Receive Command and non-Command referrals and make an introductory contact to referred Sailors to provide information about the SAIL program.
Provide an initial clinical assessment and ongoing risk assessments using the Columbia Suicide Severity Risk Scale (C-SSRS). Provide ongoing safety planning using the Veterans Affairs Safety Plan.
Collaborate closely with Sailor's Command providing routine updates regarding sailor risk, safety, and progress in their recovery in accordance with the DoDI 6490.08.
Provide clinical case management to Sailors enrolled in SAIL per published protocols and procedures. Ensure enrolled Sailors are connected to behavioral health providers and other supportive resources, as indicated, throughout SAIL engagement.
Ensure Command referral information for Sailors who decline or who cannot be contacted is documented in the FFSMIS SAIL Record System. At the conclusion of SAIL services, alert command that SAIL services are ending and advise on procedures if the Sailor's risk of suicide related behavior returns.
Report suspected child abuse and domestic abuse/violence to the local civilian authorities and the Family Advocacy Representative IAW Navy and state requirements. For clients wanting to make a restricted domestic abuse report, provide a warm handoff to the installation Family Advocacy Representative or FAP Victim Advocate. For clients wanting to make a restricted sexual assault report, provide a warm handoff to the installation Sexual Assault Response Coordinator or SAPR Victim Advocate.
Ensure Sailors receive an initial evaluation by Military Treatment Facility/Emergency Department qualified staff after suicide related behavior or ideation in accordance with local emergency response procedures and in coordination with the Sailor's command.
Collaborate with Sailors behavioral health treatment provider(s), and other service providers upon receipt of release of information from the Sailor.
Participate in site/regional quarterly quality assurance procedures to ensure that all SAIL services provided are safe and of good quality.
Document and maintain current records in the FFSMIS SAIL Record System for all SAIL contacts, assessments, and case management services provided IAW Navy requirements.
Ability to intervene in crisis situations, using sound professional judgment, ethical practice and common sense. Maintain SAIL case documentation IAW all applicable policies, laws and instructions.

Master's degree in counseling accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs OR a Master's degree in Social Work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education OR a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Marriage and Family Therapy Education OR a Doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology PLUS a one-year clinical internship accredited by the American Psychological Association.

Each SAIL Case Manager must maintain current clinical credentials and privileges throughout their assignment.
A minimum of two years- of full-time, post-master's supervised clinical experience.
SAIL Case Managers must meet or exceed the requirements for Tier II clinical practitioners.
SAIL Case Managers must meet the standards of professional and ethical conduct prescribed by their particular discipline or licensing board and demonstrate current clinical competence through at least periodic, direct service clinical experience during the 2 years preceding hire.
2+ years' experience providing case management to clinical clients.
1+ year experience providing clinical services on a telehealth platform.
Minimum of 6 months experience with managing crises with suicidal clients and implementing safety plans.
Minimum of 6 months experience assessing suicidality risk.
Knowledge of standard documentation requirements for clinical services.
Ability to work and thrive in a high stress, fast-paced environment.
Strong organizational and time management skills.

Job Overview
The Career Readiness Counselor works with the Career Readiness team to deliver asynchronous training to Persevere students, while collaborating closely with Instructors and Classroom Facilitators. This is a primarily remote role, but it will require local travel within Central Florida and may occasionally involve work inside prison facilities. JOB PURPOSE
The First-Year Experience (FYE) office supports the successful academic and social transition of all new students through orientation, peer mentorship, and foundational programming. This position is central to the office's mission by managing the logistics, communication, and training for the New Student Peer Mentor (NSPM) program and coordinating large-scale orientation events. The role provides a unique opportunity to gain valuable project management, people leadership, and cross-departmental communication skills highly valued by future employers and for graduate school applications.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Student Coordinator oversees the primary logistics and support for the New Student Peer Mentor program and Fall New Student Orientation.
Manage comprehensive logistics for the New Student Peer Mentor (NSPM) program, including training, assignments, scheduling, and early move-in coordination.
Serve as the main point of contact for NSPMs, providing weekly communication, scheduling, and facilitating check-ins and support.
Coordinate the planning and execution of all interactive events for New Student Orientation (NSO) during August.
Compose, edit, and prepare all written communications directed at new students regarding orientation and the mentor program.
Assist the FYE leadership team with general administrative, support, and office tasks, including responding to parent/student inquiries.
Fulfill other duties as assigned.
SCHEDULE
Work shifts vary significantly throughout the year, with remote work possible during the early summer planning phase.
February - May (Part-Time): Approximately 5-10 hours per month for hiring and planning.
June - July (Planning/Training): Up to 90 hours total for summer planning; work can be done remotely until mid-July.
Mid-July - August (Orientation Peak): 40 hours per week (full-time commitment). Must be on campus and available for evening/weekend events. Depending on your housing needs, we are able to offer on-campus housing at a reduced cost during this portion of the summer.
September - December (Fall Support): 4-5 hours per week for Fall NSPM meetings, events, and wrap-up.
On occasion, the student may be asked to work evenings and/or weekends depending on the College event schedule.
