You will receive a $2,500 gross sign-on bonus after 90 days of employment.

Student Support Coaches should be enthusiastic, empathic, have a sense of humor and be patient. It's nice if they have traveled the same or similar paths that our students are on and can offer real world experiences as they support students in the Job Corps program. Work environment is in the dormitories with students when they are not in class. See schedules available below.

Who You Are As the TRIO SSS Student Support Services Counselor, you will support the vision of Front Range Community College (FRCC) by creating a superior student experience. In this role, you will provide proactive wraparound support for students from first generation, low-income, and disability backgrounds starting their first year at Front Range Community College-Boulder County Campus to help them achieve their higher education goals. You will assess student needs and develop a customized plan to ensure the appropriate interventions are identified to meet participants' needs. You will provide one-on-one academic success coaching and advising for students to develop an educational and career plan, select courses, connect to resources, and stay on their path to completion. You will also perform other responsibilities that support the TRIO SSS program objectives and initiatives. The holistic approach will serve students throughout their entire FRCC journey, to promote retention and graduation.

Meet with students regularly to provide individual academic, career, transfer and financial aid guidance.

Assess the needs of students through intake interviews to develop, update, and complete individualized action plans for program participants.

Provide proactive and strategic outreach to students to connect them to college and community resources for additional support.

Monitor student academic progress and provide success interventions as appropriate to support retention.
Coach peer mentors. Collaborate with Student Support Services Team in the development and implementation of Wolf Success Workshops focusing on academic success, financial aid, financial literacy, etc. Coordinate programming and group activities to cultivate program participants' sense of community and to provide experiences that will connect them to campus and community opportunities. Provide ongoing training and information to FRCC faculty and staff regarding program services. Collaborate with internal and external partners to advance retention efforts, focusing on students from diverse communities.
Required Competencies
Relationship Building & Collaboration: Develop relationships with Student Support Services participants, as well as their family and supporters, to provide them with the highest level of wraparound support. Collaborate with schools, community organizations, and other FRCC staff/faculty to develop strong relationships and programming.
Event Planning: Develop and execute seminars to support student needs in partnership with FRCC staff and faculty and community partners, as well as virtual and in-person events for program recruitment & outreach.
Critical Thinking: Maintain ongoing evaluation of program goals and students' performance outcomes to identify student and program needs, as well as provide recommendations on innovative changes based on research and promising practices.
Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity: Work with individuals and groups with diverse backgrounds and experiences. Be able to provide them with resources that will support them as they navigate through their higher education journey and know that they matter.
Detail Oriented: Maintain accurate student records
QualificationsRequired Education/Training & Work Experience: Bachelor's degree in education, social work, social sciences, or a related field. In this Student Bursar/ School Assistant role you will be responsible for effectively supporting student billing financial software and successfully manage administration of student accounts receivables, including invoicing, collections, processing student cash receipts, and student refunds in a timely manner. Essential Functions:


1. Generating electronic and paper invoices for current and prior term accounts

3. Updating collection coding and assigning accounts to collection agencies

4. Updating and maintaining rate tables

5. Assessing monthly late fees

6. Generating department reports

7. Creating term billing schedules with the President and the finance department

8. Responding to student inquiries via phone, email, and in person

9. Liaison to IT Department, Student Services Department, Office of the Registrar, Library, Admissions, and the Academic Department to resolve billing discrepancies

10. Perform student account maintenance to ensure compliance with established school of nursing policies and procedures.
