Qualifications/Certification.
All teachers must hold a Bachelor's degree upon employment.
Teachers in our schools must meet certification requirements by employment commencement. This can be achieved in a few ways:
Possession of a valid Mississippi teaching license with the required content endorsements.
Holding a valid teaching license transferable from another state with reciprocity to MS.
Enrollment in a state-accredited Alternative Certification Program by the first day of employment and having successfully passed the content related praxis exam within the last 5 years.
Prior Experience.
Highly preferred: Previous experience teaching Science, working in low-income communities, and a demonstrated ability to elevate the academic performance of underserved scholars.
