Teacher for the Visually Impaired Key Responsibilities: Student Evaluation & Assessment: Use criterion and norm-referenced tests to assess pupils' visual functioning, communication, motor, social, self-help, academic, vocational, and cognitive skills. For over 21 years, the Pasadena Educational Foundation's Summer Enrichment Program has mixed academic subjects with hands-on exploration to help prepare students for the upcoming school year. Our 5-week morning program has 2 formats. Younger students (TK - 2nd grade) will spend the entire morning program in one self-contained/intro classroom. Older students (grades 2 and up) typically split their morning schedule into 3 blocks. Each block is a little over an hour long and has a different group of students. Master Teachers work directly with children, parents, and members of their teaching team to provide a developmentally appropriate program for young children. They demonstrate and train staff and practicum students, implement emergent curriculum, provide a learning environment for the whole child, incorporate all learning styles in their classrooms and demonstrate a commitment and understanding of anti-bias education and its implementation. Master teachers have an important role in the classroom and in the school.
