We are looking for experienced educators who have a passion for teaching! For over 21 years, the Pasadena Educational Foundation's Summer Enrichment Program has mixed academic subjects with hands-on exploration to help prepare students for the upcoming school year. Our 5-week morning program has 2 formats. Younger students (TK - 2nd grade) will spend the entire morning program in one self-contained/intro classroom. Older students (grades 2 and up) typically split their morning schedule into 3 blocks. Each block is a little over an hour long and has a different group of students. Most teachers teach the same class in each block. This year, our program is for students in grades TK-8. We will no longer offer courses designed for high school students. PERFORMANCE EVALUATION Regular performance evaluations of part-time lecturers are made by the department in accord with the faculty Collective Bargaining Agreement and University Policy Statement 210.070. These performance evaluations determine which lecturers will be retained for future and continued teaching assignments. And in some instances, syllabi, assignments and reading material will be reviewed by the departmental personnel committee. Teach during the Extended School Year (ESY), a program providing additional instruction outside the regular school year, to support students with credit recovery and continued academic progress. Collaborate with Behavioral and Educational Support Specialists and multidisciplinary teams (therapists, nurses, administrators, caregivers, and classroom staff) to provide academic, behavioral, and therapeutic interventions for students. Maintain and actively reinforce the schools reward program to promote and encourage positive student behavior. Respond to student crises as needed, using de-escalation strategies and, when necessary, physical intervention as a last resort to ensure student safety. Complete and document daily Medi-Cal progress notes to track services provided to youth, ensuring compliance with billing and electronic health record requirements.
