OVERVIEW OF ROLE
Our elementary school (Match Community Day) has an immediate opening for a Science Teacher. The position is based at our elementary school campus on 100 Poydras St. in Hyde Park. Working hours are Monday-Friday, 7am-2:45pm. Professional development on Wednesdays runs until 4:30pm.
The compensation for Match teaching positions ranges from $61,812-$98,899 and is based on a candidates prior years of teaching experience. Match offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes 90% coverage of health insurance costs and student loan repayment assistance.
This position includes a number of essential responsibilities, including (but not limited to):
Teach elementary level science classes to one or more grades of students;
Develop daily lessons and assessments aligned with Matchs Science curriculum in collaboration with department colleagues and leadership team members;
Serve as an integral part of the Science department, including covering additional science courses in other grades when needed due to teammates absences;
Uphold high academic and behavioral expectations for students, and provide lots of support for getting students there;
Participate actively in Matchs coaching and professional development programming;
Assist with school programming as needed during non-instructional time (e.g. arrival, lunch and dismissal); and
Serve as a positive and collaborative member of the Match Charter Public School community
