We are looking for dedicated individuals who are effective administrators who can work well with parents and priesthood leaders as they strive to help the rising generation. **Although this job is posted for the Cedar City area, this is just where the workshop will be held and there may or may not be any openings in Cedar City or Southern Utah at this time. Many of our participants accept full time seminary teaching positions within central or northern Utah, Idaho or Arizona. This application is the first step in the process individuals must complete to be considered for employment in Seminaries and Institutes. The process consists of the following: 1. Complete the REL 471 Teaching Seminary Workshop. Register through this link: Southern Utah Teaching Seminary Workshops - Fill out form After the workshop, by invitation only, move onto step 2. 2. Participate in a brief (3-4 days) teaching practicum in a local seminary. After completion, by invitation only, move onto step 3. 3. Student Teach for 1 to 2 semesters. Teaching will be no more than 2 classes in the semester. The typical student teacher assignment is a 15-20 hour per week position. During this time, student teachers continue the training process and are assessed and evaluated throughout as they are considered for employment. Decisions about full-time employment are made by the administration of Seminaries and Institutes in Salt Lake City. Decisions about part-time employment are made by local S&I administrators and depend on current demand. There are always more student teachers than there are openings in any given year. Responsibilities Teach Effectively Teach students the doctrines and principles of the gospel as found in the scriptures and the words of the prophets. Teach in a way that leads to understanding and edification. Use approved curriculum and materials. Teach the number of classes recommended by policy in consultation with the area director. Seek to Develop Professionally Accept faculty assignments. Observe classroom teaching and provide helpful feedback to teachers. Strive for continual professional growth. Establish an Effective Working Relationships Provide useful information and respect the priesthood leader's time. Establish clear and consistent methods of communication. Enroll and Encourage Students Work closely with priesthood leaders in identifying and enrolling all potential students. Cultivate a learning environment of love, respect, and purpose in your classroom. Schedule Seminary instructors are expected to work the time necessary to accomplish their assigned teaching and administrative responsibilities. Full-time seminary instructors are not eligible for overtime. Full-time Workload Those in a trimester system should teach four of the five trimester classes each trimester. Those in the eight-period block system should teach six of the eight classes each semester. Those in a seven-period day should teach a minimum of six classes. When possible, the student to teacher ratio should be approximately 150-180 to one. It is recommended that there be no more than thirty-five students per class.     General Summary: Teacher II works under the direction of the Child Services Manager and in collaboration with the Child Development Facilitator, the Family Partnership Manager, and in partnership with Teacher I. He/she assists with responsibilities for the classroom operation including planning, carrying out activities, maintaining a safe classroom environment, supervising children and keeping them safe. He/she assists in conducting parent/teacher conferences, home visits and supervising classroom volunteers. He/she works with Teacher I and parents daily to plan and implement an individualized curriculum for up to 19, three to five year old children in the Head Start classroom. He/she is responsible for building strong relationships with parents, helping them identify their strengths, supporting their continued growth and completing required documentation in PROMIS family log. Required Qualifications Education, Training and Qualifications: 1. An Associate Degree in Early Childhood and/or a degree in social services is preferred, however, a CDA or willingness to acquire a CDA within the first year of employment is acceptable. 2. The ability to speak and write both English and Spanish strongly preferred. 3. Experience working with preschool children required. 4. Must demonstrate adequate health to do the job. She/he must be able to lift 40 lbs. and carry it 50 feet and be able to sit on the carpet and get back up without assistance. 5. Must be willing to obtain an initial physical exam including TB test, prior to employment, and thereafter have an annual exam certifying that he/she is fit to perform the job. 6. She/he must be willing to work effectively in a team with peers, agency representatives, parents, Coordinators, Facilitators, other professionals to meet the needs of the children and families. 7. Employee maintains a commitment of professional ethics communicates effectively and takes responsibility for and participates in compliance and professional development. Qualifications Job Description - Registered Behavior Technician Under the direction of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), the Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) provides clinical skills instruction and behavior reduction protocols based upon the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to children with autism and related developmental disabilities in the home, community, and/or school settings. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Work one-on-one with children to implement ABA-based intervention plans. Prepare for each session by: Setting up materials Reviewing previous notes and graphs Familiarizing themselves with the treatment program, schedule, and goals, prior to each client's session. Conduct teaching and intervention according to training and client-specific intervention plans. Complete the session by updating parents/caregivers and writing a timely session note. Detailed Responsibilities Consistently implement treatment plans with fidelity (under BCBAs direction) across a wide variety of domains, such as toilet training, communication, social, and adaptive living skills Collect and maintain accurate session data and clinical notes using data collection software. Communicate appropriately and effectively with colleagues and families. Provide progress updates to parents/caregivers and communicate effectively with the BCBA regarding learner's progress Review and implement consultation/supervision note recommendations Assist with parent training and clinical assessments as needed. Participate in ongoing training, evaluations, and team meetings. Work ethically and with integrity while following the BACB Ethical Code, HIPAA regulations, and adhere to company policies and procedures to ensure professional integrity. Adhere to attendance policies and maintain a reliable and punctual work schedule to provide consistent client care. Track supervision hours and annually renew the RBT certification as mandated by the BACB to maintain the certification. Physical Requirements Mobility: Position requires the ability to safely navigate stairs and move throughout all areas of the facility, including basement and upper floors, without the use of an elevator or ramp, including multiple trips per day as needed to access therapy rooms. Active Movement: Position requires frequent standing, walking, and active movement throughout the therapy floor, including therapy rooms, cafeteria tables, and play areas, for multiple hours per day. Duties involve a fast-paced environment and may include climbing on play equipment, kneeling, crouching, and assisting children at their level. Child Engagement: Ability to actively engage with children, including kneeling, sitting on the floor, and playing. Must be able to move quickly, including brief running, to keep pace with a child who may elope or require immediate physical support for safety. Ability to transition between sitting, kneeling, or crouching on the ground to standing quickly to engage with and support children as needed. Lifting Requirements: Must be able to regularly lift and carry up to 30 pounds, occasionally lift up to 50 pounds, and rarely lift up to 75 pounds. Environmental Exposure: Ability to tolerate exposure to bodily fluids of children, including urine, feces, and saliva, as well as common classroom and household substances such as craft supplies (glue, markers, paints), cleaning products, pet dander, and other typical environmental allergens. Must be able to tolerate these substances through both skin contact and inhalation during daily activities. Noise: Ability to tolerate a loud and stimulating environment, including children yelling, playing, and engaging in various activities throughout the day. Technology/Visual/Hearing Requirements: Ability to see, touch, and utilize technology devices to access schedules, track data, complete session notes, and communicate with co-workers using computers, tablets, and other technology.
