Substitute Teacher:
The substitute teacher will monitor students and their learning in the absence of the regularly scheduled teacher. The substitute will maintain a positive learning environment in the classroom while facilitating lesson plans left by the regularly scheduled teacher. A successful candidate will be one who is able to follow direction, hold students accountable, and is enthusiastic about education and learning.
Responsibilities for Substitute Teacher:
Implement regularly scheduled teacher's lesson plans and instructions or consult with principal or other relevant staff if lesson plan is not provided.
Maintain a clean, respectful, and orderly classroom, and follow classroom and school procedures as directed by the school.
Maintain records and draft notes on attendance, pertinent inquiries, and incidents.
Follow and enforce rules, policies, and procedures of both the classroom and the school campus.
Ensure the safety of students.

:
Lesson Plan Development:
Create effective lesson plans that include accommodations and consultation with general education teacher as needed. Plans should accommodate various student levels, include procedures for assessing knowledge, outline the content standards addressed, and specify the curriculum used. Adapt the general education curriculum according to needs outlined in the IEP.
Supervision of Paraprofessionals:
Oversee and direct paraprofessionals assigned to the classroom. While Program Supervisors and Site Administrators will assist in supervision, it is the teacher's primary responsibility in the classroom.
Implementation of PBIS Program:
Manage the classroom's Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) program, including tracking behavior points, maintaining the student store, and communicating with parents/guardians.
Classroom Management:
Maintain a classroom environment that prioritizes student engagement and safety, implementing the behavior plan, modifying state-adopted curriculum, and employing strategies to effectively teach students with various disabilities.
IEP Meetings and Documentation:
Attend IEP meetings for students assigned to the classroom. Write updates for each student's annual IEP in coordination with the state standards, school district expectations, and enter all IEP updates (Present Levels, BIP, ITP, and Goals) into the dedicated IEP documentation system prior to the meetings. Maintain documentation on IEP goals, student academic and social growth, prepare progress reports. Ensure documentation is accessible and provided upon request in a timely manner. Collaboration:
Work collaboratively with other staff and outside agencies to effectively educate each student.
Assistive Technology:

This position will teach World History classes with the potential addition of other electives in the department. General overview of responsibilities:
Teach assigned four sections of History.
Meet in department course teams to improve curriculum and student experience.
Write formal comments on students four times per year and informal progress reports four times per year.
Meet with parents, as needed.
Maintain a Professional Growth Plan in consultation with the department chair.
Take part in the school's co-curricular program through involvement in athletics and/or the arts.
Serve as an Advisor or Co-Advisor to a small group of students.
Serve on committees and task forces, as needed.
If residential faculty, fulfill weeknight (once a week) and weekend (7 per year) residential duties.

Enter data for children into the appropriate information systems, according to set guidelines and timeframes
Attend internal staffing with FSW and participate in any additional staffing on children suspected or identified with special needs, and assist with the completion of referrals for further evaluation
Maintain an ongoing comprehensive portfolio for each child, including works samples and quarterly developmental assessment
Input classroom data weekly into appropriate information systems
Perform recordkeeping responsibilities for children and the classroom function
Generate and complete reports, using them to inform planning and information sharing with others
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field and PEL certification or signed contingency to obtain; bilingual or ESL Endorsement may be desired based on program needs
1-3 years of experience in preschool/pre-kindergarten required and knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum design and teaching and instruction
Effective organizational, planning, and group management skills with children

Proficient verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to tailor communication to different audiences
