Hope Network's Center for Autism is expanding our East Lansing team and seeking a Board-Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) with strong clinical expertise, exceptional professionalism, and a commitment to improving outcomes for children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
What You'll Do:
Conducting assessments using tools such as ABLLS-R, VB-MAPP, PEAK, AFLS, Vineland, Essential for Living, and functional behavior assessments.
Developing individualized treatment plans and behavior intervention plans (BIPs) for center-based, in-home, community-based, and telehealth ABA programs.
Supervising Behavior Technicians and supporting performance management, coaching, training, and competency development.
Providing ongoing parent training and participating in family, treatment-team, and stakeholder meetings.
Monitoring learner progress, analyzing data, and making clinical recommendations based on medical necessity.
Ensuring clinical documentation, billing, and EHR requirements are completed accurately and on time.
Collaborating with the Associate Clinical Director and Scheduler to maintain staffing plans and ensure quality service delivery.
Upholding BACB ethics, Michigan LBA requirements, HIPAA standards, and Hope Network policies.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required.
BCaBA certification with a passing BACB exam score.
Current Michigan LBA (or eligibility to obtain).
Minimum 2 years of ABA clinical experience, including autism treatment and behavior programming.
Experience providing ABA in clinic, home-based, and community settings.
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
Strong leadership, communication, collaboration, and clinical decision-making skills.

Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

Implement: Implement curriculum, supplements, screenings, and ongoing assessments with fidelity.
Educate: Respectfully educate families on child development and the significance of routine care as it relates to medical care, dental health, mental health, nutritional health and school readiness.
Monitor: Create systems that allow for accurate tracking and follow up regarding the provision of services to families, including accurate and timely data entry into various data systems so that others needing information can access when needed.
Evaluate: Review data related to child outcomes, school readiness benchmarks, as well as child and family goals, assessing progress.
Collaboration: Develop relationships with community partners as a means for linking families to services as well to
recruit eligible participants for the 0-5 Head Start Program.
Reporting: Maintain accurate records as assigned as well as reporting all suspected child abuse and neglect.
Professional Development: Actively participate in professional development to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.

Job DescriptionDescriptionAs a Surgical Counselor you will provide exceptional care for our patients by offering them professional service and creating a memorable patient experience. The incumbent accurately and professionally explains the physician's diagnosis, the surgical procedure and the expected results to each surgical patient and, as appropriate, to their families through verbal instruction, brochures, pamphlets and video. The Surgical Counselor handles all surgery scheduling process and advise patients on financial obligations which may include the establishment of payment plans.
Schedule:
Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm.
*When scheduling patients you might have a late night.
*Scheduling for Jolly Rd location, Lake Lansing location, St. Johns location. *Travel will be required. *Training in Jackson will be required.
What you will be doing
Prepare medical charts for surgical evaluations (cataract / retinal / glaucoma / cornea / lids, etc.) performed by our physicians at practices throughout the local area
Travel with the physician to all locations, including referring physician offices
Educate patients on the newest technologies and advancements in the field of cataract surgery
Obtain any prior approvals or authorizations needed from insurance companies
Schedule all patient surgeries and pre-operative and post-operative appointments, including appointments with the patient's primary care physician, optometrist and surgery center
Prepare and organize surgery charts and mailing any necessary paperwork
Inform patient of any pre-admission testing (labs, EKG, etc.), what is expected day of surgery, answer any pre-surgical questions, and inform of follow up care
Answer all telephone inquiries from patients and primary care physicians regarding surgery or other concerns
Verify medical benefits for surgery and injections
Discuss benefits and costs of non-covered benefits with patients. Secure any out of pocket financial requirements from patient
Complete consent and other necessary forms for surgery
Interface with Billing Department as needed
Relay all surgical booking forms and charts to the surgery center in a timely manner
Maintain a professional relationship with referring physicians from neighboring communities
Perform other duties as assigned

The BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) is primarily responsible for conducting functional behavior assessments and developing behavior plans based on these assessments. The BCBA is to ensure the effective implementation of all treatment plans and programming for their clients as described by the fundamental responsibilities.
RESPONSIBLITIES AND DUTIES:
Adheres to professional and legal requirements, the principles of behavior analysis and demonstrates sound professional judgment at all times
Maintain BCBA continuing education courses that are necessary by the BACB (32 credits every 2 years)
Willing to collaborate with other services (PT, OT, Speech) that their clients are provided
Collaborates with families, caregivers and all service providers as necessary to ensure continuity of care
Performs direct and indirect assessments to identify the function of client's behaviors
Develops a treatment plan (including behavior support plan) based on the functions of the behavior and treatment methodologies that are evidence-based
Attends all relevant meetings for clients, including treatment team meetings, IEP/ISP (as allowed/needed)
Adequately demonstrates their abilities to work effectively as a part of a clinical team
Attends insurance authorization review calls for their clients
Collects data before and during the implementation of the plan so that the plan's efficacy can be assessed and data-based decisions can be made
Provides direct instruction/ongoing supervision, training and support to clients, staff members and family members
Evaluates the effectiveness of the implemented treatment plan and modifies the plan as necessary
Upon receiving information from the Lead Clinical Supervisor, the BCBA will initiate services with new clients in a timely manner
Manages, prepares and submits all required documentation on time (includes, but is not limited to: assessments, treatment plans/BSPs, insurance updates as required, session notes after every session, at least monthly analysis of the data, updating the treatment plans as needed, participation in calls with insurance companies, etc.)
Communicates regularly and works closely with the Lead Clinical Supervisor
Supervises & monitors progress of Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) and Behavior Technicians (BTs) (includes practicum students)
Conducts ABA Technician's Annual Evaluations & Goal Setting
Responsible for submitting authorizations, requesting adjustments, assessments & treatments to insurance carriers for approval
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
