Administrative Support:

Position Responsibilities:

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Works with the Director and other foster care staff to identify targeted needs for foster parents across NC.

Duties and Responsibilities
A positive, supportive role model who guides and influences group activities on a consistent basis that enhances the youth's confidence and self-esteem. Youth Counselors ensure the progress and welfare of each client and the group through therapeutic programs. Responsible for staff secure supervision during the afternoon, evening, and sleeping hours.
Lead group of youth through a variety of daily activities while providing group and individual counseling, with an emphasis on strength-based development. Ensure successful development of the youth through rational living cognitive behavioral therapy to help youth define their life goals and then help them achieve those goals-pointing out thinking errors and faulty cognitions along the way.
Qualifications
Must be 21 Years of Age or Older per DJJ Guidelines.
High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of two years' relevant experience working with youth is required. Bachelor's degree in social/behavioral services or outdoor recreation specialties is preferred. 2+ years of college in a social or human services can substitute youth experience requirement.
Direct care in a therapeutic/rehabilitative setting preferred.
Ability to travel about property, through wilderness terrain. Must be able to pass evaluation of crisis intervention/physical restraint techniques and written certification exam, and use approved techniques as needed. Must be able to participate in aquatic activities. Ability to stand, sit or walk for extended periods of time. Constant exposure to outdoors and/or weather conditions. Responsible for the overall supervision and safety of clients. Supervision may include shift work.
Must be able to meet requirements for Eckerd's Auto Insurance and be able to drive for business purposes. Valid and appropriate driver's license or state identification is required.
Required to pass a drug screen in compliance with our Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.

About our Program:
Eckerd Connects' Short-Term Juvenile Justice Residential program is a complete rehabilitative experience delivered in 4 to 6 months to adjudicated male youth, ages 13 to 17, referred by the North Carolina Department of Public Safety Division of Juvenile Justice. This residential treatment concept combines promising and evidence-based practices with a strong family transition component and signifies a public-private partnership with the Division of Juvenile Justice which has produced an innovative shift in the way youth are served in North Carolina's juvenile justice system. Intensive, short-term services include individualized treatment and academic plans that combine formal and experiential education, community service, behavioral health, and family counseling in a non-punitive environment designed to address the youth's behavioral challenges through a strength-based approach. Youth also receive accredited education on-site and work together in small group settings with assigned counselors.

Education, Experience and Certifications

Job Description:
· Responsible for various reimbursement functions, including but not limited to accurate and timely claim submission, claim status, collection activity, appeals, payment posting, and/or refunds, until accounts receivable issues are properly resolved.
· Collects and reviews all patient insurance benefit information, to the degree authorized by the SOP of the program.
· Provides assistance to physician office staff and patients to complete and submit all necessary insurance forms and program applications.
· Completes and submits all necessary insurance forms and electronic claims to process the claims in a timely manner as required by all third party payors. Researches and resolves any electronic claim denials.
· Researches and resolves any claim denials or underpayment of claims. Effectively utilizes various means for collections, including but not limited to phone, fax, mail, and online methods. Provides exceptional customer service to internal and external customers; resolves any customer requests in a timely and accurate manner; escalates complaints accordingly.
· Maintains frequent phone contact with provider representatives, third party customer service representatives, pharmacy staff, and case managers.
· Reports any reimbursement trends/delays to supervisor (e.g. billing denials, claim denials, pricing errors, payments, etc.).
· Processes any necessary insurance/patient correspondence.
· Provides all necessary documentation required to expedite payments. This includes demographic, authorization/referrals, National Provider Identification (NPI) number, and referring physicians.
· Coordinates with inter-departmental associates to obtain appropriate medical records as they relate to the reimbursement process.
· Maintains confidentiality in regards to patient account status and the financial affairs of clinic/corporation.
· Communicates effectively to payors and/or claims clearinghouse to ensure accurate and timely electronically filed claims.
· Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of data requires a review of a variety of factors.
· Exercises judgment within defined standard operating procedures to determine appropriate action.
· Typically receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments. Performs related duties as assigned.
· Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to build productive internal/external working relationships.
· Strong interpersonal skills. Strong negotiating skills. Strong mathematical skills.
· Strong organizational skills; attention to detail.
· General knowledge of accounting principles, pharmacy operations, and medical claims.
· General knowledge of HCPCS, CPT, ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding preferred.
· Global understanding of commercial and government payers preferred.
· Ability to proficiently use Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word.
· Is developing professional expertise; applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues.
Qualifications
· Healthcare experience is a must have for this role. Those with experience verifying benefits are ideal.
