The early move-in program will take place from August 16-18, 2022 and is a summer residential program for incoming freshman. The student leaders will mentor and guide students through sessions covering issues including: Finding friends and making campus connections Finding jobs on campus Understanding scholarships, grants, and loans How to succeed in classes Using the portal: how and why? Service learning Preparing a graduation plan Managing money Student Leaders will also serve as peer mentors, within the Office of Multicultural Belonging and Engagement throughout the 2022-2023 academic year. Student leaders will support students academic and social development by connecting students with resources and programs to enhance student learning. This allows students to combine the tutelage from both Academic Advisors and Student Leaders in order to establish a foundation for a successful college career. Mission: Student leaders are a part of an integrated effort to create an outstanding university experience for all students at RU with a focus on supporting multicultural learning and fostering belonging and engagement.     QUALIFICATIONS: * Current North Kansas City Schools student aged 16 or older. * Possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and physical attributes necessary to perform the essential functions of the position. * Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate or acceptable. * Availability: School Days, 1-2 hours prior to school start time. * Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a valid Clay County Health Department food handler card. REPORTS TO: Director, Food and Nutrition Services JOB GOAL: To assist the cafeteria manager in providing delicious, nutritious, and affordable meals. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: * Assures product is held at proper temperature for highest quality food attainable. * Performs dish room operations. * Maintains high standards of sanitation in compliance with Health Department Regulations. * Maintains high personal hygiene as the basis for sanitation in the kitchen. * Reports maintenance needs or equipment malfunctions to manager. * Assists in the daily cleanup of the kitchen and service area. * Assists in the storage and disposal of unused foods. * Performs major cleaning at regularly scheduled intervals as designated by the manager. * Works in a courteous and cooperative manner with manager, coworkers, and school staff. * Demonstrates ability to deal fairly and pleasantly with students. * Demonstrates effective human relations and communication skills. * Adheres to good safety practices. * Comply with all district rules, regulations, and policies. * Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate or acceptable. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The individual who holds this position must be physically capable of constant standing and frequent walking, lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, bending, pushing, pulling, reaching, and fine motor dexterity. The individual must be able to work in a hot, humid environment continuously and work in cold or below zero environment for short periods. The individual must be able to operate commercial kitchen equipment. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and work calendar to be established by the Board Of Education. Benefits according to Board policies.
