ASSE International Student Exchange Program is looking for Area Representative's. We are looking for people interested in sharing many different cultures with American host families while having a wonderful experience yourself! Participating in
this program leaves students, families and representatives with improved cultural understanding and with a larger picture of the world.
Area Representatives are the foundation of our program and are essential to the
success of high school exchange. Representatives work at the local level
to identify school slots for students, find caring families interested in hosting, match students with families, and supervise students and families throughout the year. ASSE provides training and support to its Representatives.
This is a volunteer position although you will receive a stipend to offset the costs of recruiting host families and working with students. Representatives receive between $700 and $1050 per student successfully placed. We also offer many bonuses and incentives. On average it takes about 3 hours a month for each student you place. Most of our reps work full time jobs or are students and do this on the side.

* As a Sustainability Council member, promote the Sustainability Council and recruit new members, especially student members, to make sure all stakeholders on campus are represented.
* Interact with Faculty & Staff via social media and act as SC liaison with Nevada State Student Alliance, Nevada State Alliance for Science club, Student Life Office, and in classes and events to enhance campus engagement in sustainability topics.
* Lead student sustainability events that educate and encourage awareness and action to preserve the campus environment.
* Responsible for interacting with The Village Student Housing staff and residents to recommend environmentally-friendly practices and procedures, especially water and energy conservation.
* Serve as the liaison with the Scorpion Cafe and Garden Farms for determining and managing composting options; this will require independent research and making decisions in collaboration with the Sustainability Council for best practices for composting that will function well with the Café's menus. This includes developing the signage to educate the campus community on the best practices to compost.
* Coordinate Sustainability Council meeting schedule, email notifications, meeting minutes and work projects.
* Collect and present data for marketing and communication of Sustainability Council events by using the Scorpion Central page and coordinating with the Marketing and the Center for Diversity and Inclusion departments.
* Contribute to sustainability initiatives using promotional and educational materials by writing, editing, and designing content for campus announcements, displays, newsletters, sustainability guides, and training materials.
* Assist with special projects to advance waste minimization initiatives in collaboration with the Facilities department.
Minimum Qualifications:
* Must be in good academic standing and maintain a GPA of 2.0 or higher.

The work experience includes strengthening your awareness of professional etiquette, time management, making decisions, working with others, communicating with management, and periodically participating in professional development workshops.
Qualifications
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
The internship is offered to currently enrolled high school students ages 15-17 years old who have completed all nine gallery volunteer opportunities. Applicants must also be active volunteers in good standing. A minimum GPA of 2.5 is preferred but we encourage reaching or exceeding this goal as the academic year progresses.
TIME COMMITMENT
The Discovery Children's Museum YouthWorks internship program is for six months and may be extended for an additional six months. All incoming interns are part-time working alternating weekends (one on, one off). An extended Intern status (work every weekend during the academic year) is optional after 30 days.
During the academic year, interns must be available to work Saturdays from 9:45 to 5:00 and Sundays from 11:45 to 5:00, at least every other weekend. Departure time is dependent on completing gallery closing procedures.
During summer, winter, and spring breaks (and certain holidays), interns must be willing to work a “
flexible schedule.”.
During these time frames, interns will attend a team meeting and/or workshop at least once a month, either in person or virtual. These meetings are mandatory.
Interns may also be scheduled for work member exhibition preview events and VIP Parties. These work assignments may be scheduled earlier or later than the standard operating hours.
Preplanned family trips or other extended time off during the first 60 days of your internship must be discussed and approved upon accepting the internship.
All time off requests for holidays, school events or testing, personal, and family gatherings will require a minimum of two weeks' advance notice in writing via email.

ASSE International Student Exchange Program is looking for Area Representative's. We are looking for people interested in sharing many different cultures with American host families while having a wonderful experience yourself! Participating in
this program leaves students, families and representatives with improved cultural understanding and with a larger picture of the world.
Area Representatives are the foundation of our program and are essential to the
success of high school exchange. Representatives work at the local level
to identify school slots for students, find caring families interested in hosting, match students with families, and supervise students and families throughout the year. ASSE provides training and support to its Representatives.
This is a volunteer position although you will receive a stipend to offset the costs of recruiting host families and working with students. Representatives receive between $700 and $1050 per student successfully placed. We also offer many bonuses and incentives. On average it takes about 3 hours a month for each student you place. Most of our reps work full time jobs or are students and do this on the side.

The student worker will provide academic guidance through FREE peer-to-peer support via tutoring, embedded course support, and study/test-taking strategies for a variety of subject areas.
The Embedded Course Support Program is a robust academic support program grounded in the International Supplemental Instruction (SI) Model. The program supports challenging courses with high enrollment and low pass rates or those that serve as required pathways for specific majors or graduation requirements, such as foundational Math or Science courses.
Embedded Peer Leaders (previously known as "SI Leaders" and "Course Assistants") will regularly attend course lectures, facilitate weekly structured group study sessions, and offer individual tutoring/mentoring sessions. Education and Experience:
Associate's Degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field; AND two (2) years of child care experience; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Must be a minimum of twenty-one (21) years of age.

Job Description
Nevada State University invites applications for the position of Student Worker - Tutor for the Academic Success Center (ASC). The student worker will provide academic guidance through FREE peer-to-peer support via tutoring, embedded course support, and study/test-taking strategies for a variety of subject areas.
Tutors will facilitate one-on-one or group sessions, both in-person and online, for a variety of subjects to provide guidance in understanding course concepts, study strategies, and/or suggest appropriate campus referrals. Tutoring is a great way to help others while learning more about the subject yourself and is an excellent opportunity to prepare for graduate school or for a career as an educator or researcher. Tutors will participate in pre-semester and ongoing training in best practices for academic support/learning theory, facilitating collaborative learning, and teamwork. Core Responsibilities:
* Conduct one-on-one or group tutoring sessions in-person and online for approved subjects daily/weekly.
* Hold drop-in tutoring sessions and/or drop-in tutoring labs where multiple students can walk in for tutoring.
* Assist with marketing and advertising sessions to the campus community.
* Coordinate with faculty on course-specific materials and resources.
* Prepare for tutoring sessions and document sessions daily/weekly.
* Assist with front desk coverage and customer service (answering phones, scheduling appointments, student referrals, etc.).
* Participate in pre-semester training, ongoing training, and staff meetings (bi-weekly/monthly).
Minimum Qualifications:
* Have earned or expect to earn a B+ or better in the subject(s) you are applying to tutor.
* Have earned a Nevada State GPA of 3.0 or better over the last 2 semesters OR a cumulative GPA of 3.0.
* Must be enrolled at Nevada State with a minimum of 6 credits for the semester in which you will hold the position.
* Provide letter of recommendation from academic faculty for the course(s) you are applying to tutor.
* Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship (Nevada State does not sponsor employment-related visas).
