Job Responsibilities

In accordance with Head Start performance standards, ACF, licensing and organization guidelines, implement an individualized early education program that is based on children's strengths and needs.
Conduct ongoing assessment of children and maintain documentation of each child's progress.
Perform a developmental screening of all children with 45 days of enrollment.

DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
The Long-Term Foster Care (LTFC) program at Lutheran Family Services Rocky Mountains (LFSRM) provides care and support to Unaccompanied Children (UC) in federal custody as they wait for their immigration case to be resolved so they can transition to a more long term program or living arrangement. UCs are placed with licensed foster families and attend public school while they are in the program, allowing them to have more normalized experiences in family based environment.
JOB SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Placement Supervisor is responsible for the certification of foster care homes and the placements of UCs in foster homes. This position will provide direct supervision to the members of the case management team. Additionally, this position will be expected to provide casework and supportive services directly to a small caseload. This position will be required to maintain communication with stakeholders in an effective and timely manner to ensure case continuity. The Placement Supervisor is required to maintain a flexible, organized, and efficient work schedule and is subject to work extended hours and weekends.

May participate in on call rotation.
TRANSPORTATION

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS
A Bachelor's degree in the social or behavioral sciences and three (3) years of full-time child placement experience or Master's degree and one (1) year full-time experience in adoption or foster care and child placement.
Possess certification in the SAFE assessment tool and SAFE supervisor certification, or the ability to become certified within 3 months of hire. Meets regulatory requirements for Placement Supervisor per state regulations for Child Placement Agencies.

Colorado Legal Services (CLS) is a statewide nonprofit legal aid program, with thirteen offices providing civil legal assistance to low-income Coloradans throughout the state. The Farm Worker Rights Division (FWRD) of Colorado Legal Services represents farm workers in federal and state courts, and administrative agencies on a variety of civil legal claims. The FWRD's work focuses primarily on wage theft, human trafficking, immigration, sexual harassment, working conditions and civil rights. The FWRD also runs a comprehensive community education program that involves outreach to workers at labor camps and to community-based groups. The FWRD's client community is comprised primarily of Latino migrant and seasonal farm workers.
The FWRD currently has four summer internship positions for students who share a passion for advocating for the rights of low-wage farm workers. The interns will be based in the regions with the largest population of migrant and seasonal farm workers to conduct outreach to farm workers at labor camps and other locations. The interns will work with clients and potential clients on a variety of legal issues and will travel throughout the rural areas of their respective regions to visit farm workers and conduct outreach at labor camps, collaborate with key partners in the region, and ensure workers have information about their rights and the services that the FWRD provides. When not out in the field, the interns will have the opportunity to utilize their legal research and writing skills to support the attorneys with ongoing federal litigation involving claims arising under the Trafficking Victims Protection Act, the Federal Labor Standards Act, the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, Colorado wage laws and more.
Location One intern will be placed in each of the following regions of Colorado:
Northeastern (NE) Region - the NE intern will work primarily out of the CLS Greeley office with travel to Brighton-Greeley-Fort Morgan-Yuma areas to conduct outreach.
Arkansas Valley (AV) Region - the AV intern will work out of the CLS La Junta Office or CLS Pueblo Office and will conduct outreach in Pueblo-La Junta - Lamar and surrounding areas.
San Luis Valley (SLV) Region - the SLV intern will work out of the CLS Alamosa office and will conduct outreach in Alamosa-Center-Monte Vista and surrounding areas.
Western Slope (WS) Region - the WS intern will work out of the CLS Grand Junction office and will conduct outreach in Palisade-Delta-Olathe and surrounding areas.

DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
The Long-Term Foster Care (LTFC) program at Lutheran Family Services Rocky Mountains (LFSRM) provides care and support to Unaccompanied Children (UC) in federal custody as they wait for their immigration case to be resolved so they can transition to a more long term program or living arrangement. UCs are placed with licensed foster families and attend public school while they are in the program, allowing them to have more normalized experiences in family based environment.
JOB SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Placement Supervisor is responsible for the certification of foster care homes and the placements of UCs in foster homes. This position will provide direct supervision to the members of the case management team. Additionally, this position will be expected to provide casework and supportive services directly to a small caseload. This position will be required to maintain communication with stakeholders in an effective and timely manner to ensure case continuity. The Placement Supervisor is required to maintain a flexible, organized, and efficient work schedule and is subject to work extended hours and weekends.

EXAMPLE ACTIVITIES
* Oversees the study of potential foster families using the SAFE tool to determine the character and suitability of the applicants, appropriateness of the home and child care practices; assists with home study preparation.
* Reviews and signs home assessments including updates, renewals, and addenda; issue certificates; and post- placement reports.
* Oversees appropriate medical services for the children placed in care.
* Provides and documents monthly supervision of placement workers to review all home studies in process, certifications in renewal status, and current placement activity.
* Assesses potential placements based on information provided by counties and other referral agencies.
* Accompanies placement workers to pre-placement and placement visits between foster families and children, when possible.
* Conducts file reviews of foster parents and foster children as scheduled.
* Trains new employees on the placement of children, monthly paperwork, and job duties.
* Provides crisis intervention when needed.
* Supports the recruitment, retention and training of foster parents, as needed.
* Performs the job duties of a case manager worker when carrying a caseload.
* May participate in on call rotation.
TRANSPORTATION
Must maintain a valid driver's license and carry personal auto liability insurance at the level of $100,000/300,000/100,000.
* Frequent local regional travel. May be required to transport clients in personal vehicle.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS
* A Bachelor's degree in the social or behavioral sciences and three (3) years of full-time child placement experience or Master's degree and one (1) year full-time experience in adoption or foster care and child placement.
* Possess certification in the SAFE assessment tool and SAFE supervisor certification, or the ability to become certified within 3 months of hire. Meets regulatory requirements for Placement Supervisor per state regulations for Child Placement Agencies.
* Bi-lingual English and Spanish strongly preferred.
