For over 30 years, New Season Treatment Centers have been a leading national health care service provider of outpatient treatment centers that specialize in providing safe, quality and best in class care for individuals living with Opioid Use Disorder ("OUD").
Operating in over 70 treatment centers in multiple states, our team members are engaged in medication-assisted treatment, counseling, support, and care management of individuals living with OUD. We treat the whole person and, in so doing, address the underlying causes of OUD in an effort to provide a continuum of care that not only addresses treatment needs but supports the patient on their journey to recovery.
Job Summary:
New Season operates a number of nationally recognized and accredited methadone treatment centers dedicated to helping individuals with prescription drug abuse and/or opiate addiction regain control of their lives.

Essential Functions:
Works with patients to complete all intakes, admissions, discharges, and transfer paperwork.
Documents patient progress through counseling and interaction through groups.
Completes patient psychosocial and an individualized treatment plan within the required time frame.
Identifies any clinical/case management needs and works to address those needs.
Performs individual, group, and family counseling as required.
Performs at least 20 hours of direct one-on-one patient contact per week through individual or group counseling.
Reports patient abuse, neglect and exploitation as required.
Reports patient grievances as required.
Educates patient in all aspects of treatment, corresponding health issues and steps to recovery.
Obtains Urine Drug Screens and initial patient photo identification.
Assists in monitoring all patient activities on center premises.
Actively participates in community relations activities as directed and authorized.
Ensures the reading and understanding of the Policy and Procedures Manual.
Ensures compliance with 42 CFR Part 2 (Federal Confidentiality Regulations) and 45 CFR, Parts 160 & 164 (HIPAA)
Is responsible for obtaining or maintaining proper licensure and/or certification according to specific state requirements.
Actively participates in preparation for surveys and inspections conducted by CARF, the State, DEA, Board of Pharmacy and any other agency site visits as dictated by the state laws or regulations.
Participates in all staff meetings
Ensures compliance with local, State, Federal and Colonial Management Group, LP rules, regulations and policies.
Always acts in the best interests of the program and company; honors, supports, and protects the proprietary data and rights of the company.
Performs other tasks as assigned by clinic, region or corporate leadership.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education/Licensure/Certification:
Experience in substance abuse field is not required, but preferred
Qualified candidates will have a counseling Certification in a related field (State Specific)
Bachelor's degree is preferred but not required
Experience Required:
Minimum of 500 hours of experience in substance abuse is preferred
Skill and Ability:
Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and be dependable and reliable

Summary
HHMI is seeking a Contracts Counsel for its Office of the General Counsel (OGC) to help support HHMI's programs and operations by providing informed, practical, creative, and timely legal counsel in the review and negotiation of research‑related agreements. As a member of the dynamic team in HHMI's OGC, you will be directly involved in HHMI's mission of advancing biomedical research for the benefit of humanity.
The person in this role will review and negotiate contracts relating to the conduct of research in HHMI laboratories. These contracts include agreements covering the transfer of reagents and other materials into and from HHMI laboratories (inbound and outgoing Materials Transfer Agreements or MTAs and MTOs). In addition, the Contracts Counsel ensures that inter‑institutional agreements (IIAs) and licenses entered into by third‑party research institutions that relate to technology developed in HHMI laboratories are consistent with HHMI's policies and interests. The Contracts Counsel will work closely with other OGC staff, HHMI scientific management, HHMI laboratory heads and staff, and research institution staff to efficiently resolve issues relating to MTAs, MTOs, IIAs, and licenses.
This position reports to the Deputy General Counsel and works under the general supervision of the Deputy General Counsel and one Senior Contracts Counsel. We will consider either remote or hybrid working arrangements, given the candidate's preference.

What you will do
Provide informed, practical, creative, and timely advice and counsel to HHMI departments and staff in support of HHMI's mission, strategic priorities, programmatic objectives, and operational goals while balancing organizational risks.

Review and negotiate MTAs with providers and research institutions;
Advise HHMI laboratory heads and laboratory staff regarding legal obligations under MTAs;
Educate laboratory heads, laboratory staff, research institutions staff, and others involved in the MTA process on HHMI policies as they relate to MTAs;
Work collaboratively in the MTLR group to resolve legal and practical issues arising in MTA negotiation and processing.
Perform MTO Review: review and edit MTOs and advise assigned institutions as needed on questions relating to MTOs, such as MTO terms acceptable to HHMI.
Perform IIA and License Review: provide timely comments to assigned research institutions on IIAs, options, and licenses, consistent with HHMI policies.
Consult and coordinate with others in OGC and at HHMI, including Senior Director‑Scientific Officers and Senior Director‑Scientific Program Officers, as appropriate, on MTA, MTO, and license issues.
Update and maintain electronic databases associated with MTAs, MTOs, and licenses in a timely manner.
Assist the MTLR group and other OGC staff in suggesting, evaluating, documenting, and implementing improvements to HHMI procedures and practices for handling MTAs, MTOs, and licenses.
Maintain a current knowledge of legal issues and current practices in the scientific community relevant to MTAs, MTOs, and licenses, including through participation in continuing legal education and membership in appropriate bar and professional associations. As opportunities arise, support efforts of HHMI laboratories and the broader scientific community to promote the availability of reagents and other research materials.
What you bring
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree.
Active membership in good standing with an established bar required.
A minimum of three years of experience as an attorney in private practice or in a corporate, nonprofit, or government legal department.
At least two years of experience drafting and negotiating contracts. Experience drafting and negotiating contracts relating to life sciences research and/or intellectual property is a plus.
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, judgment, and decision‑making skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with scientists, senior management, colleagues, and outside counsel.
Interest in learning new subject matter, developing proficiency with legal and information systems, and supporting the work of HHMI scientists and grantees.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Lesson Planning
Work jointly with parents to develop weekly lesson plans based on each child's assessment and identified family needs, including education, mental health, dental health, nutrition, parent involvement, and social services.
Child Screening & Observation
Conduct developmental and social-emotional screenings, in collaboration with parents/caregivers.
Assist in identifying children with special needs and support the process of necessary referrals, including meaningful inclusion of children with disabilities and diverse learning needs in all program activities. Observe, assess, and document each child's health, skills, behavior, growth, and development.
Participant Service Delivery
Travel throughout the city of Chicago to reach families of diverse backgrounds. Work collaboratively to provide children with group socialization experiences in conjunction with peers and supervisors. Serve as an advocate for families in the program, working in collaboration with internal partners and external supports. Schedule and conduct 90-minute weekly home visits for each parent and child; schedule make-up visits when visits are canceled. Participate in case management screenings and staffing. Assess and assist with children's transition out of Early Head Start. Ensure all families have completed a Needs Assessment and established a Partnership Agreement. Ensure goals, referrals, and support to families are followed up on and entered on to ChildPlus. Ensure all children enrolled are current with their schedule of age-appropriate preventive and primary health care and provide support as needed.
Administrative Tasks
Approve timesheets and ensure compliance with agency and funder guidelines, ensuring that daily activities are within the allowable activities approved by the agency. Maintain and preserve a confidential family file and online database. Complete data entry into database systems, per assigned due dates, and update as needed. Prepare and submit records including, but not limited to, timesheets, weekly schedules, mileage, in-kind, home visits, and socialization lesson plans.
Performance & Quality Management
Implement the agency mission, philosophy, and core values to direct daily work and decision-making; adhere to agency policy. Cultivate a professional and respectful work environment. Be actively involved with, and knowledgeable about, the agency's Performance Quality Improvement (PQI) structure and process.
Program-Specific Activities
Nurture positive and collaborative working relationships with other agency staff and outside stakeholders and partners. Ensure compliance with all Early/Head Start Program Performance Standards, including as interpreted by Start Early, as well as with relevant federal, state, city, and accrediting/licensing body regulations and requirements. The Framework is aligned to the American School Counselor Association National Model for School Counseling Programs2 and outlines a comprehensive counseling program that delivers services equitably to all students in the building.
Conduct Annual Needs Assessments and Data Reviews to Determine and Prioritize Student Needs:
The school counselor will conduct an annual needs assessment and data review to identify critical areas of student need. The school counselor will then create targeted program goals aligned to the schoolwide goals, mission, and vision. This ensures that school counseling services address critical areas of demonstrated need, resulting in improved academic achievement.
Implement the School Counseling Core Curriculum:
In order to reach all students, the school counselor will design, conduct, and co-teach learning activities in classroom, large group, and/or school wide settings, based on the academic, career, postsecondary and social/emotional needs of the students so as to facilitate the infusion of school counseling as an integral component of the total education curricula. Activities to support this objective may include: classroom guidance; high school/college/career fairs; high school/college/career tours; grade-level or school-wide team building activities.
Provide Individual Student Planning Activities:
In collaboration with students, staff, and families, the school counselor will create an academic plan that ultimately results in the successful obtainment of a diploma and postsecondary option(s) of choice. Activities to support this objective may include: facilitation of completion of the Individual Learning Plan in Naviance; transition activities (i.e orientations, HS app process); events to inform families of test results and their implications for educational planning; advisement to ensure students are on-track to the next grade level or phase in life.
Provide Responsive Services:
In collaboration with students, staff, and families, the school counselor will provide responsive services to address students' barriers to academic achievement. Activities to support this objective may include: facilitation of small groups; structured, short-term, goal-oriented individual counseling sessions; participation in building-level student assistance teams; facilitation of conferences with students, teachers, and families; consultation with teachers, families, and external partners regarding the developmental needs of students; schoolwide support during crisis or emergency situations; participation in IEP/504 Plan teams. Please note that school counselors do NOT provide therapeutic treatment of a mental, emotional, or bodily disorder.
Provide Indirect Student Support:
Indirect services are provided on behalf of students as a result of the school counselor's interactions with others. Activities to support this objective may include: referral of students/families to district and community resources; sharing strategies that support student achievement with parents, teachers, other educators, and community organizations; serving as a student advocate to promote student development within the three domains; serving as the school's resident expert on student development; reaching out to other experts and stakeholders to obtain information on students' needs; teaming/partnering/serving on committees and advisory boards; creating formalized partnerships with community based organizations.
Provide System Support:
As professionals, leaders, and advocates in the school building, the school counselor will coordinate, conduct and participate in activities that contribute to the effective operation of the school consistent with the approved school counseling program. Activities to support this objective may include: creation of an annual school counseling Evidence-Based Implementation Plan and Annual Agreement to support overall school goals and objectives; creation and delivery of needs assessments to determine the primary needs of students according to a variety of audiences; collection and aggregation of multiple data sources in order to determine need, as well as to progress monitor counseling interventions; protection of planning time for the creation and modification of counseling interventions; coordination of professional development/inservice programs for faculty and staff.

Responsible for recruitment, enrollment, and intake of assigned number of group members; engage in canvassing and other recruitment activities assigned; assist in developing and implementing community relations strategies.
Responsible for ensuring that recordkeeping and reporting systems are maintained in an up to date and accurate manner, and consistent with agency standards; track and record group members' progress consistent with CYC's outcomes matrix and ETO data base procedures.
Responsible for organizing and managing an Advisory Committee for the purpose of assessing school and community assets and needs and recommending programs; work with school administration to facilitate a positive, engaging school climate; participate in the development of relationships with external partners; develop collaborative and partnership agreements; attend assigned community group and partner meetings toward the goal of coordinating and improving services to students and families.

Requirements
Associate's Degree or equivalent in Youth Development or related field, with a minimum of six semester hours in Child Development, Elementary Education, Physical Education, Recreation, Camping or other related field.

Scope of Responsibilities
Identify and recruit youth with a trauma history to participate in Teen Programming; practice relentless outreach to ensure continued participation
