As a Design Studio Vehicle Technician, you will help develop and commercialize state-of-the-art electric vehicles.
Your RoleWork closely with the design modeling team and the events team to build, maintain and repair marketing and show vehicles and properties Build state-of-the-art automotive prototype vehicles, systems, and subsystems Flush and gap adjust panels, trims, glass, etc. to the highest level of quality Troubleshooting engineering and fabrication challenges Resolve mechanical problems Maintain shop organization and cleanliness
Qualifications5+ years of custom coach build/high-end restoration experience 5+ years of vehicle technician experience in the high-end repair shop Proficient with hand and power tools Valid driver's license with a clean record Technical and mechanical skillset Basic computer proficiency (MS Office, etc.) Own a professional automotive toolbox Ability to travel as needed Available to work overtime, evenings, and weekends if needed Ability to lift 50 pounds and work on your feet for long periods of time
AdvantageousUnderstanding of low and high-voltage vehicle systems Fabrication Skills, machine shop, woodshop, composites, painting/surfacing Previous design studio experience (wind tunnel testing, show cars, etc) Strong electrical systems knowledge. Understanding schematics and creating/modifying harnesses Degree in Automotive Technology or ASE Certification preferred Knowledgeable with vehicle diagnostic systems

The position requires a self-directed team player with an interest in sales, art, and working with their hands. The individual should be able to anticipate needs in order to assist customers, the store manager and other sales & studio technicians. The ability to problem solve and provide high quality customer service is essential. Sales will be driven primarily through education via customer/student interaction, classes, lectures and in-store demonstrations.
Primary Responsibilities
Sales
· Greet customers
· Sell products and online classes
· Accurately operate Point of Sale System, manage financial transactions, and balance drawers
· Direct customers to merchandise within the store
· Recommend products and online classes
· Have a comprehensive understanding of product line and its use in kiln-forming
· Help customer with questions, which may be related to quality of product, billing, pricing and user technical issues
· Maintain an orderly appearance throughout the sales floor
· Wrap sheet glass
Studio Technician
· Assist daily in studio functions
· Help keep the studio clean and equipment maintained
· Assist customers as needed during open studio hours
· Load and unload kilns
· Prime kiln shelves
· Program kilns
· Demonstrate to customers how to use studio equipment
Other Sales & Studio Instructor Functions
· Have a complete understanding of pricing & discount levels
· Maximize store sales through outstanding customer service
· Demonstrate in-store tools and techniques
· Help create in store displays and educational samples
· Help manage store inventory
· Receive and stock inventory
· Assist and attend in-store customer functions
· Occasional attendance at events away from the store
Essential Qualifications
· 4-year degree preferably in Fine or Studio Art/equivalent experience
· Knowledge of Mac and PC, Excel, Microsoft Word, Outlook, and presentation software
· 2 years of prior Retail Sales or Customer Service experience
· Maintain an upbeat and friendly attitude
· Ability to read, write and perform basic math; proficient in the English language.
· Ability to multi-task
· Ability to work in a small team
· Excellent organizational and communication skills
· Ability to problem solve
· Accuracy is critical for all phases of the job
· Valid driver’s license
· Knowledge of art history & aesthetics

Lifting/carrying: Frequently. Typical weight between 1 to 40 lbs. For lifting glass; ceramic molds; kiln shelves; stocking of supplies, as well as assisting customers with merchandise.
Handling/grasping: Frequently to stock glass; wrap glass; loading and unloading kiln shelves; operating cold working equipment (sand blasters; grinders; polishers; dremel; tile saw) pallet jacks; forklift; kilns.
Speaking/hearing: Frequently. To speak with co-workers, students and customers. Follow verbal instructions.
Finger dexterity: Frequently. To operate the POS system/Computer work/handling glass and other supplies.
Near vision: Frequently. For computer work; coldworking; teaching.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Fox News is hiring a Freelance Studio Technician to join the Broadcast Engineering division of the LA Bureau. This department is responsible for designing and implementing systems that enable the entire Fox News Los Angeles team to perform their jobs with maximum efficiency and minimal interruption to workflow. The Freelance Studio Technician will be involved in all aspects of facility operations, will run and maintain our various broadcast studios, and will provide on-site support to members of the editorial staff.

Must be available to work 1pm - 9pm or 7pm - 3am (flexibility between these two shifts and weekends required)

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

* Run and maintain various broadcast studios

* Provide on-site support to editorial staff

* Create schematic diagrams of facility systems and analyze those systems to recommend improvements in workflow

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

* Associate/Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or Broadcast Engineering is preferred, or equivalent experience

* 2 years of technical experience

* Schematic diagram creation and modification using AutoDesk AutoCAD and LucidChart

* Must have strong problem-solving skills

* Ability to troubleshoot a multitude of technical issues including user computer and printer issues, electrical circuit troubleshooting, and field equipment failure diagnosis

* Adobe Premiere and Photoshop experience is preferred

* Experience using 3D design software for the purpose of printing broadcast parts is a plus

* Must be able to move and carry industry equipment;. frequent movement between two floor levels is required

* Must be available to work 1pm - 9pm or 7pm - 3am (flexibility between these two shifts and weekends required)
