A Day in the Life of a Ruger Intern:
Engineers experience a wide variety of tasks every day at Ruger, one day is never the same as the next! Our interns work directly with a mentor on one of our manufacturing lines. You will be assigned a “summer project” at the beginning of your internship. This project is intended to give you the opportunity to design and build something that will be implemented into the production line. Progress will be monitored by your mentor and other engineers in design review settings. Portions of this project are to be completed individually as well as with other Ruger employees.
Examples of past intern projects are: inline gages used in production, automatic part marking machine for part traceability in production, automatic oiler used for rust prevention in assembly, tool cost savings for a product line, laser marking station for gages in the facility.
Interns will also spend some days shadowing their mentor in supporting production, attending design reviews, new product development meetings, interacting with outside suppliers, planning product flow and improvements to manufacturing.
You will also have the opportunity to work directly with our production associates to learn how our manufacturing method works in real time. As an intern or engineer we try to cultivate a “Servant Leader” atmosphere as our role is to solve problems and provide solutions to the manufacturing line associates to make their job function smoothly.
Lastly, at the end of your internship, you will have the chance to practice your communication skills by creating a presentation that will be delivered in a group setting to engineering and management.

Minimum Requirements:
Sophomore year completed
Enrolled in an Accredited Engineering Degree Program
Temporarily relocate to one of the three Ruger facilities for the duration of the internship
Ability to work 40+ hours per week
Any CAD or Modeling experience
Benefits:
Competitive hourly rate paid on a weekly basis, plus (1.5x rate) overtime as needed.

Payout of a portion of the company's profit-sharing program.

Function as a professional that provides a wide range of IT services from desktop & application support to basic administrative duties for servers, networking, and firewall equipment. Work as a member of the HBS managed services team that provides critical IT Support for multiple HBS customers.
Obtain knowledge on a variety of technologies and platforms used by customers as directed by your Team Lead.
Perform proactive maintenance duties such as switch/firewall/routers upgrades, server patches, workstation patches, firewall rules, etc.
Assist in Remote application and hardware support for switches, routers, firewalls, servers, and storage.
Monitor and analyze customer networks, systems, backups, and security appliances.
Work with customer's primary field engineer to perform work on an as needed basis.
Cross-Education/Mentoring of other Heartland Interns, Managed Services Engineers, and related personnel.

Internship Program Overview
Our 12-week summer internship offers more than just a project - it's a launchpad for your career. Interns at AFB are given the opportunity to work on meaningful assignments that make a direct impact on our business. You'll gain hands-on experience with lean manufacturing, process optimization, and continuous improvement methodologies such as Kaizen and process flow mapping.
Position Summary
AFB International is seeking a highly motivated Engineering Intern to join our manufacturing operations team at our Aurora, MO facility. As an intern, you will work closely with experienced professionals to support process improvement efforts and contribute to key engineering and operational excellence projects.
Key Responsibilities
Collect and analyze production and process data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
Conduct root cause analyses and support implementation of corrective actions
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on process efficiency and quality improvement initiatives
Participate in Kaizen events and continuous improvement projects
Assist in tracking and reporting key performance indicators (KPIs)
Qualifications
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
Completion of sophomore year or higher by the internship start date
Minimum GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale)
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with statistical analysis tools is a plus

Position Purpose:
In 2023, the Lindt & Sprüngli group announced their approved Science Based Targets initiative (approved by SBTi), with long term (2050) net-zero targets. This announcement was paired with a high-level roadmap to achieving targets. The organization is currently working on emissions reductions actions across all scopes. This internship will focus on helping the Lindt decarbonization team develop and improve upon internal tools used to assess scope 3 emissions reduction potential (ex. product carbon footprint - PCF). These tools are becoming key in enabling teams across operations departments to consider emissions impact in the decision making process, and driving emissions reductions.
What To Expect as a Lindtern:
Our twelve-week Lindternship program offers hands-on experience allowing undergraduate and graduate students to gain practical skills and contribute to projects that directly impact our business. During the summer, interns will be paired with a mentor, attend professional career development workshops/sessions and attend networking events to meet additional team members.
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:
Collaborate with various departments to gather insights and inputs, and improve the current product carbon footprint tool
Analyze data flows across several data management platforms and make recommendations to improve data flows and insights
Improve visualization of carbon impact at the product level, to support teams across the new product development and product change processes
Develop training and educational materials on PCF and carbon footprinting to support decarbonization goals
Support the EHS team in driving other environmental and carbon impact reductions projects and initiatives
Qualifications & Requirements:
Experience:
Prior internship and/or Project focused process and results oriented positions
Experience performing Product Carbon Foot-printing, preferably for food or agricultural products
Experience in project management and stakeholder engagement
Skills & Knowledge:
Familiarity with the GHG Protocol and carbon foot-printing methodology
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Detail-oriented with a focus on process optimization and data analysis
Ability to develop and maintain well organized documentation systems
Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams
Self-motivated with a proactive approach to learning new tools and methodologies
Strong Project Management skills
Proficiency in data analysis tools and software e.g., Excel, PowerBi, Enterprise Software (SAP)
Education:
Be a Junior or Senior enrolled in an accredited University Degree Program - Preferably with a focus on Environmental Sustainability, Engineering or Data Analytics
Other Requirements:
Ability to work on-site
