The Virtual Design & Data Solutions (VDDS) Staff Engineering Technician under general supervision, performs advanced functions requiring technical knowledge and use of electronic applications, standards, and document control processes/procedures in support of creating or modifying deliverables.
This role will be responsible for the development of site drainage, grading, and utility plans using Autodesk Civil 3D and Bentley MicroStation.
This role will be within the Black & Veatch Governments & Water Utilities (G&Wu) group, supporting client needs related to water, wastewater, linear pipelines, and other water-related solutions.
Required:
AdvancedCivil 3D experience is required with use of pipe/pressure networks, proposed grading surfaces and plan and profile development.
Must be familiar with plan & profile drawings, alignments, pipe networks and grading.
Job Summary
Functions in a project engineering technician capacity.
Under general direction, supports engineering and design teams by developing and modifying technical deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

Capable of handling difficult technical assignments within an area of expertise and can provide technical guidance to other professionals.
Performs design calculations, detailed material quantities and estimates, and records.
May review the deliverables of others.
May define work assignments and maintain schedules.
May program control systems or participate in other plant start-up activities associated with a specialized area of expertise.
Coordinates with other design group personnel to review and exchange project information necessary for design development.
May support field activities. Focuses on the needs of internal clients while utilizing an understanding of external client's main interests and drivers.
Proactively seeks and shares knowledge of latest technologies and processes .
May apply judgment and makes decisions with respect to deliverables and input interpretation.

Key Responsibilities
* Support the development of textile preforms for composite structures through tasks such as characterization, mapping, and data collection of the complex 3D weaving process.

Come join us at Terrestrial Energy, a US developer of advanced, Generation IV nuclear reactors. We are growing our workforce to develop and deploy our Integral Molten Salt Reactor (IMSR) small modular nuclear plant to provide cost-competitive, clean firm heat and power to industry.

Have the specific skillset and experience for the following role:
The Instrumentation and Control Engineering Intern, reporting to the Instrumentation, Control and Electrical Manager, is primarily responsible for aiding the Instrumentation and Control team in the design, development and analysis of instrumentation and control systems for the Integral Molten Salt Reactor technology.
Other Responsibilities Include:
Prepare I&C engineering design documents including; logic diagrams, calculations, analysis and assessment documents for the development of system and equipment design.
Communicate and work with various technical disciplines to understand system design(s) and interfacing requirements.
Contribute to timely resolution of instrumentation and control design challenges and address risks.
Conduct research for design development and optimization.
Conduct presentations to interdisciplinary teams and external parties.
Interface with external vendors, experts and design agencies.
Gather and analyze data from simulations to support design validation, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project requirements.
Exposure to nuclear design concepts, principles, regulations, codes and standards.

Education
Actively working towards a post-secondary degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics or in a related field. Senior students preferred.
Experience

Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
