The Ingersoll Rand's CSS (Compressor Sales and Service) NA Commercial Finance team serve as the strategic finance partner to the North American Compressor sales and service organization. The team plays a critical role in managing and overseeing the accounting and finance operations for a sales organization that drives more than $1 billion in annual revenue. The role offers hands-on opportunity across various key accounting and finance aspects, including finance reporting, planning and analysis, finance partnering, finance modeling as well as process improvement and automation projects aiming in boosting efficiency. The candidate will also gain meaningful learning experience and exposure to business operations while working on practical business cases.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Contribute to daily finance reporting, month close, planning and analysis tasks, including P&L reviews and forecasting for multiple sales channels.
Engage in daily sales activity to better understand business needs, provide insights and diagnose business strengths and weaknesses, and support potential strategic decision-making and solutions.
Collaborate with data analytics and other cross-functional teams to automate workflows and enhance efficiency.
Provide support for the ERP system transition within the sales organization as needed.
Take on assigned finance related projects throughout the internship. A project presentation will be expected at the end of the internship to showcase key learnings and experiences.

Position Summary: Internship Program Overview - Midrex's 2026 Summer Internship Program offers an immersive assignment to undergraduate and graduate students, enhancing their understanding of the business world through valuable, hands-on experience with a people centric organization. Midrex offers a 20-40 hour per week, paid internship that begins with an orientation in May and concludes in August.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Assist with driving a Target Zero culture for Environment, Health & Safety with strong involvement and ownership from each Teammate.
Reviews existing written safety procedures, recommends enhancements, and revises documents with collaboration with Corporate EHS manager and other Teammates. Seeks continuous improvement and strives for execution excellence.
Reviews existing safety training modules, recommends enhancements, and revises PowerPoint documents as per collaboration with Corporate EHS manager and other Teammates. Seeks continuous improvement and strives for execution excellence.
Work within our Learning Management System to improve the effectiveness and the user experience of safety training modules.
Assist with developing key performance indicators (KPIs) for EHS.
Collaborate on safety projects with Midex Teammates.
Skills/Abilities:
Required:
General understanding of industrial safety concepts (e.g., work experience, academic course work).
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint).
Willingness to learn and work in a dynamic work environment.
Preferred:
General understanding of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 and/or OSHA 29 CFR 1926 regulations.
Education and Experience:
Working toward a bachelor's degree in occupational health & safety, Safety Sciences, or another related field.
Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.
Travel Requirements:
N/A
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Ability to traverse throughout project sites and the technical research center, including climbing tall structures, to make visual inspections of safety practices and conditions.
Occasionally lift and move items weighing 50 pounds or less.

What You'll Do
As an EHS Intern, you will:
Assist in conducting safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
Support compliance activities related to OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory standards.
Help develop and update training materials, safety procedures, and emergency response plans.
Analyze EHS data and recommend improvements to reduce incidents and ensure compliance.
Complete a capstone intern project and present results to leadership.
Qualifications
We're seeking motivated students who are ready to learn, grow, and contribute:
Currently pursuing a degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale).
Knowledge of safety principles, environmental regulations, or compliance programs preferred.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Collaborative mindset with a willingness to take initiative.
Ability to work on-site at one of our locations for the duration of the program.
