GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE
The Stylist is responsible for engaging with guests, consulting with them on their hair care needs and recommending products and services. The Stylist delivers quality professional services with an emphasis on the guest's total look. They support the Experience Manager (EM) and the Assistant Services Manager (ASM) through a focus on performance (service sales, and productivity), people (guest service), and process (operating procedures and compliance standards). Demonstrate high standards of customer service and salon image standards.
Serve all guests, including walk-in guests, in a timely and efficient manner.
Develop a partnership with skin therapists and the retail team to provide a total-store and well- rounded guest experience.
Establish professional peer and brand partner relationships that foster a shared interest in collaboratively delivering exceptional guest service.
Share the benefits of the guest loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app, with guests in the salon and on the salesfloor.
Attend mandatory trainings and meetings to enable continuous professional development.
Process
Be knowledgeable of and ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty policies, procedures, and standards.
Follow all safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures before, during, and after services; always ensure compliance with state board guidelines.
Follow established service protocols to ensure a consistent and exceptional guest experience.
Utilize appropriate booking and clientele systems to book guests for return services and for events.
Communicate any supply needs to the EM, ensuring guest readiness at all times.
Maintain outstanding store operational standards, including cleanliness of the salon, salesfloor, restrooms, backroom, break area, and any additional assigned area.
Adhere to the Ulta Beauty dress code.
Protect company assets by following loss prevention best practices and providing exceptional guest service.

The Beautician Will:
Provide services to all residents who request them without regard to race, color, creed, national origin, age, sex, religion or disability. Services may also be provided to employees of Facility or family members of residents when such services are requested. At no time shall services be provided to individuals not residing at Facility, employed at Facility or not family members of residents.
Maintain Operator's licenses in accordance with all applicable state and local regulations. At no time shall services be provided by an individual not licensed or qualified as in accordance with law. A copy of the License shall be made part of this agreement. Licenses are also to be clearly posted in the salon.
Beautician will comply with the following requirements of the Facility:
General Orientation
Annual TB and Health Screening
CORI testing
Maintain MSDS Book of all products used and provide easy access within Beauty Salon
Infection Control policies, procedures and guidelines of Facility
Maintain professional manner and dress by standards set by the Executive Director
Transport residents who need assistance to the salon.
Communicate with facility staff to ensure residents remain safe and free of accidents or incidents while with Beautician [examples are: fall risk, elopement, wandering]. Only residents cleared to transfer independent should so do. Beautician should not transfer or transport any resident without checking with nursing first.
Maintain standards of hygiene and cleanliness in accordance with all state and local regulations. It is the responsibility of the Beautician to sweep floors and clean all surfaces including sinks, counters, chairs and dryers. Should it be necessary to provide services in a resident's room, the Beautician is responsible for cleaning the room area.
Maintain professional liability insurance indicating Facility as additional insured and show evidence of same through a Certificate of Insurance. At no time shall services be provided by an individual not covered by liability insurance.
Provide all equipment; e.g. blow dryers, curling irons, scissors, smocks and supplies [e.g. shampoos, tints, rollers and solutions], for the operation of a hair salon and for which the facility assumes no liability. Supplies and products used will be of the highest quality.
Clearly post all rates for services and charge all customers on an equal and consistent basis. Rates are not to exceed those detailed in the attached Schedule A. Rates will not be adjusted without first consulting with the Executive Director of the Facility.
Hours of operation are to be posted at Beauty Salon. Hours will be determined in consultation with Facility staff to ensure coverage for all campus clients. Coverage must be of sufficient days and times to ensure all residents wanting services are accommodated. The hours of operation are to be clearly posted and adhered to at all time. In the event of a situation beyond the control of the Beautician necessitating a change in hours or cancellation of service, the Facility shall be contacted with at least one (1) day's notice. Permanent hours of operation are not to be adjusted without first consulting with the Executive Director.
Adhere to Facility billing procedures for residents. Payment for services rendered may be sought under the following conditions:
Service logs are to be maintained and submitted through a procedure which is acceptable to the business office. Payment for services will be made by the Facility after receipt of required documentation.
Employees and family members of residents shall pay Beautician directly.
No arrangements with families or residents for direct payment may be made.
Maintain a line of communication with the Executive Director, the residents' neighborhoods and residents' families in order to schedule appointments within the flow of clinical services maintained by Facility and in order to determine the appropriate hair style and needs of reach resident served.
The Facility will:
Provide a properly licensed heated and ventilated hair salon fully equipped with all major pieces of equipment: e.g. sinks, chairs, mirrors and hood-type dryers necessary for the proper delivery of services.
Provide clean towels, rubbish receptacles and disposal of rubbish.
Mop floors and redecorate as necessary.
Provide telephone for internal and emergency calls.
Assist Beautician with scheduling residents.
Reimburse the Beautician for services within a week of submission of required documentation to the Business Office. It is noted that Facility, under regulation, may not reimburse from the resident personal needs account for any resident who does not maintain a positive balance. It is the responsibility of the Beautician to check weekly with the Facility Business Office to insure that all residents have positive balances. Facility will be responsible for notifying families that the account needs to be replenished.
The Facility and Beautician will:
It is acknowledged and agreed by the parties hereto that this agreement may be terminated at any time without cause by either party upon written notice communicated to the other party. Said termination is to be effective not less than thirty (30) day of receipt of notice.

The terms and provisions of this agreement shall be binding upon the parties hereto, their legal representatives, successors and assigns.

Summary: The Beautician provides hair care and grooming services to residents in accordance with professional standards and resident preferences. This independent contractor oversees the day-to-day operations of the beauty shop, maintains a clean and safe environment, manages supply needs, and ensures residents have access to timely, high-quality services. The Beautician delivers services in alignment with facility policies, infection control standards, and state licensing requirements.
Qualification Requirements
• Graduate of an accredited cosmetology/beauty school.
• Current, active North Carolina cosmetology license.
• Must meet facility standards for background checks, insurance requirements, and contractor eligibility.
Preferred Qualifications
• Two or more years of experience as a practicing cosmetologist; experience working with older adults preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Strong knowledge of hairstyling techniques, grooming standards, and service preferences common among older adults.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills with sensitivity to resident needs and limitations.
• Ability to manage scheduling, maintain accurate records, and handle resident payments.
• Skill in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
• Ability to work independently, organize workflow, and adjust scheduling as needed.
• Ability to safely assist residents with limited mobility, including transfers into salon chairs (within reasonable limits).

Essential Functions
• Provide hair care and grooming services including shampooing, cutting, styling, setting, coloring, and other services within professional licensure.
• Manage daily beauty shop operations, including appointment scheduling, resident communication, and service workflow.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary, and well-organized beauty shop, ensuring adherence to infection control standards.
• Maintain supply inventory, purchase needed items, and ensure all equipment is safely operated and properly maintained.
• Communicate with residents, families, nursing staff, and facility leadership regarding appointments, service needs, and resident preferences.
• Maintain accurate records of resident services, payments, and documentation required by the facility.
• Inform new residents of available services, pricing, and scheduling procedures.
• Adapt services to meet individual resident needs, including those with mobility limitations or cognitive impairments.
• Report any equipment issues, safety concerns, or resident changes of condition to appropriate facility personnel..
• Perform other duties consistent with the scope of a licensed beautician as requested by the Administrator
• Uphold resident rights, confidentiality, and facility standards of care.
• Comply with all applicable laws and professional standards, including HIPAA and facility safety and infection-control requirements, and follow all Community rules necessary to safely provide contracted services and access resident care areas.
Physical Demands
• Always required to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Frequently required to bend, stoop, twist, and reach at/below/above shoulder height.
• Occasionally required to lift items up to 10 pounds.
• Frequently uses fine motor skills for grooming tools and hair care techniques.
• Must have adequate vision, color discrimination, hearing, and tactile sensation for safe cosmetology tasks.

Work Environment
• Always works indoors in a climate-controlled salon environment.
