ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: (with or without accommodations)
Duties may include but not necessarily be limited to the following:
Accurately enters data and maintains current computer files of all patient demographics, insurance and account information. Accurately enters payments received on accounts, applying payments to existing charges and appropriately ensures account balances are paid currently and correctly through third party payers as well as patient payments.
Reconciles and balances daily Deposit Slip Report. Verifies insurance benefits on new and established patients, documenting coverage, deductible and contractual conditions for billing and collection purposes. Scans in insurance cards on every visit. At every visit verifies coverage through TMHP for all Indigent and Sliding Fee Scale patients. Sets tickets to correct payer source.
Communicates with patients and family members in both English and Spanish regarding projected charges, office polices, collection procedures, all available programs as necessary.
Closely monitors accounts with pending Medicaid or other funding sources. Reviews aging patient tickets and makes collection efforts and documents accordingly.
Reviews credit balance tickets assigned and refers tickets to Supervisor if adjustments and or refund requests are needed.
Assists with any statistical or special reporting required by Supervisor or Administration. Obtains required signatures on all consent forms. Ensures all patients are given a receipt for payment. Provides and documents payment arrangements for outstanding balances and follows up on payment arrangements that have been made.
Will be crossed trained in all registration all billing departments i.e. Internal Medicine, Pediatrics and WHC duties which ever applies. Will attend in-service training and SCF educational programs. Responsible for their own safety as well as the safety of others.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS: This position requires handling of cash, collections, payments and billing and as such will require taking no less than five(5) consecutive days of accrued annual leave days per year. Therefore, five (5) of the accrued annual leave days will be reserved for this purpose.

Manage patient information: Take patient's history and vital signs and record information for the Dentist to reference. Take and document patient history and vital signs. Review chart under the direction of Dentist or Hygienist and obtain and place results in chart. Assure patient record is completed timely and is current. Adhere to all HIPAA regulations in and outside of the Clinic. Communicate patient information as requested to enhance patient services. Maintain logs on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
Teamwork: Actively participates in team meetings to facilitate maximum appointments and same day access. Meet with the team to ensure that the dentist's productivity and schedule are reviewed and populated throughout the day. Help in the orientation of new employees or students. Work with unit team members as well as other personnel to ensure a smooth patient flow and minimize gaps in the day. Communicate specific patient needs and/or population management information. Approach patient care as a team by involving clinical and non-clinical staff to achieve patient care objectives.
Demonstrate safe and professional conduct: Will adhere to all infection control measures and maintain a sterile environment for patient by cleaning, packaging, and sterilizing dental instruments following treatment, and by disinfecting any contaminated surfaces. Must wear gloves, mask, eye wear and protective clothing. Must always adhere to a professional appearance in dress, and behavior/conduct. Familiarize themselves with safety procedures to minimize risks associated with equipment such as x-ray machines. Responsible for their own safety as well as the safety of others. What you'll be doing
Patient Nutrition. Using the most current, science-based practices, you will recommend therapeutic diets based on patient nutritional needs, preferences, and changes in treatment, in consultation with the patient's physician. You will review lab results and provide appropriate education for nutritional interventions on such topics as fluid and sodium, potassium, and CKD-Mineral and Bone Disorder management. You will also conduct patient assessments and care planning activities, as well as participating in monthly interdisciplinary patient care conferences.
Teamwork. You will collaborate with the Medical Director, physician/advanced practice provider, facility administrator, social worker, nurse, and patient care technician to maintain positive relationships with area hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, agencies, vendors, and the community.
Safety & Quality. You will help with clinical and operational processes, with a focus on improving patient health and achieving target goals for patient outcomes. You will also help maintain a productive quality assurance program and participate in monthly Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAPI) activities.
The Dialysis Registered Dietitian position is for our Alvin Clinic, located at 100 E House St, Alvin, TX 77511, and for our Texas City Clinic, located at 6518 Memorial Dr, Texas City, TX 77591.
The position is full-time with benefits, offering an initial schedule of 30 hours a week, with potential for growth to 40 hours a week.
What we're looking for
Current Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) certification showing proof of registration with Commission on Dietetic Registration (includes Baccalaureate or Advanced degree).
Minimum of one-year experience in clinical nutrition as a Registered Dietitian.
Current Dietitian (LD/LDN) license in applicable state is required unless employed in the state of AZ, CA, CO, HI, IN, MI, NJ or VA. State certification (Certified Dietitian/Nutritionist) required in CT and NY. License must be maintained as current and in good standing.
Demonstrated working knowledge of the English language and ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
Must have basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); proficiency in all company clinical applications required within 90 days of hire.
Must meet any practice requirement(s) for the applicable state.
