Does the Subaru Eyesight require an automatic transmission? I did some quick searching but turned up nothing. Also, what type of engineering do you do? Do you like your job?
As pointed out below, only Automatic transmission trim options come with the Eyesight for now in the US. I think we're trying to have all vehicles have Eyesight in the not too distant future! Unfortunately, I can't get into too many details, but: I work as a Process Engineer (vague title), but basically I follow a particular model through it's life cycle, working with the Engineers in Japan, as well as the Production Engineers in house, to solve problems that arise during design and development. We continue to follow the model through major and minor model changes, further solving problems, making the production process more efficient, and trying to save money. In short, we help develop the model, along with the proper instructions to assemble it! It's great, and I'm really enjoying it so far!

How many employees work on any given vehicle?
There are currently just under 3000 employees. As far as how many work on each vehicle, I suppose we all have a small part in making a Subaru, a Subaru.

I have a bachelors in Environment Engineering, and I'm also a massive Subaru nerd. Can you talk a little about the plant's "waste-neutral" facilities, how that works, what facilities are involved, and any other interesting or unique things you find about the plant? Thanks
The plant as a whole is zero - landfill. That includes every part of the plant; even the cafeteria. Nothing goes out of the plant to a landfill as waste. Everything is recycled. One of the most unique things about the plant is, aside from zero-landfill, we also have a huge impact with charity and the community in Lafayette. Each associate can opt in on donating a certain portion of their check (most commonly one hour of pay) to United Way, to support local charities.
