BCBA Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Director of Special Education Services:
Act as a resource on behavior management to Special Education staff.
Provide coordination, consultation, and program development for behavior management processes.
Assist in the development and implementation of Behavioral Intervention Plans.
Act as case manager for students with behavioral needs placed in non-public school programs.
Conduct functional behavioral assessments and prepare documents.
Assist in soliciting meaningful involvement of parents in the implementation of positive behavior intervention plans and in the determination of appropriate placement.
Provide clinical oversight and supervision for student cases.
Provide and or coordinate staff development on behavior management.
Assure district awareness of the provision of full educational opportunities in a least restrictive environment.
Function as a cooperative and contributing member of district and multidisciplinary teams. Provide support in the implementation of the due process regulations.
Collect and analyze data to support documentation on progress for Individual Education Plans.

Duties will include:

Communicates with the client on a regular basis about the case (at least twice a month), including updating the client on the claim process and associated timeframes and adds detailed notes.
Updates case management system at every stage of the case, documenting all pertinent information and conversations.
Timely files any governmental claims via certified and return receipt mail and requests a conformed copy of each claim filed.
Calendars the “45 day from date the claim was mailed out” in the case management system.
Assesses if additional treatment is needed and/or approved on each case.
-Reviews the police reports and medical records obtained by the Records Clerk. On Serious Injury Cases (SI), forwards these reports to the Team Attorney.
For Serious Injury (SI) Cases: Follows up with Records Clerk in order to obtain the police report, establishes liability, requests the policy limits of the defendant, obtains the client declarations page, obtains any important evidence (i.e. PD photos, injury photos, videos, witness statements, etc.) -
For Pre-Procedure Evaluations: Drafts the PPE questionnaire, obtains the reports, bills and
estimated cost or each procedure, obtains the defendant's policy limits, runs and ISO on the
client, and provides all information to the Lead Attorney for their review. For surgery evaluations runs a Criminal Background Check (CBC).
-Contacts client to over the ISO and/or CBC with client to confirm the information and/or obtain any pre-ret treatment regarding any previous accidents. Adds a note regarding the ISO/CBC review.
-CM will obtain medical provider full contact information, prior attorney information and provide this to their respective RC for cases where there are pre-existing accidents as they will request the records.
Consults and advises clients regarding loss wages claims and credit issues.
Resolves problems. Consults with Pre-Lit Manager regarding claims process and special, unusual, or complex circumstances.
As required and under the direction of an attorney, assists in the negotiation process for a
client's case (case by case)
Seeks opportunities for clients to submit favorable online reviews about their experience with the firm.
Maintains utmost professional standards towards the Firm and its clients.
Achieves high customer satisfaction in the claims process.

What does this position do?
Participates as a counselor in a substance abuse or mental health services program designed to prevent substance abuse and provide for the treatment of rehabilitation patients and mental health clients with substance abuse problems.
* Facilitates in educational activities in informal group settings and in treatment or correctional centers to improve knowledge of substance abuse and mental health related areas.
* Monitors and documents client/patient progress in substance abuse/mental health recovery.

The Substance Use Counselor (SUC) is responsible for providing adult client supervision in a shelter or recuperative care facility, and assisting in the maintenance of a safe, secure environment that enhances behavioral health and substance use counseling while utilizing the harm reduction and recovery model to all clients being served.

The Intake Coordinator I conducts the initial evaluation of potential clients to assess their requirements for Substance Use Disorder (SUD) services, completes admission paperwork, and creates the initial Treatment Plan. Under the supervision of the Program Manager, the
Substance Abuse Disorder (SUD) Counselor
provides direct client support as part of a housing stabilization team. In collaboration with social service professionals, the SUD counselor emphasizes harm reduction, trauma-informed care, and client-centered support to promote recovery and stability. The SUD Counselor helps clients overcome barriers to care, achieve greater stability, and ultimately maintain permanent housing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Substance Abuse Counselor's key areas of responsibility include:

Implement case management service plan goals emphasizing coordinated strategies for addressing substance abuse issues, relapse prevention, and any other risk factors that could impede client's functioning.

Develop individualized support plans in collaboration with the client and care team.

Collaborate regularly and participate in internal case conferencing meetings to ensure holistic, integrated care.
Coordinate referrals to detox, residential treatment programs, outpatient services, and other community resources
Provide linkage to meaningful community activities to help decrease social isolation and prevent relapse risks.
Respond to urgent requests for assistance from clients as needed.
Perform daily follow-ups and wellness checks on clients engaged in SUD services.
Participate in all meetings with collaborative agencies and other community meetings as directed.

Job Overview
Our SUD Counselor Internship program is specifically for students enrolled in a Drug and Alcohol Studies Program through an accredited educational program. During their time in our programs, interns are able to observe the daily activities of a residential or outpatient SUD treatment program. Interns have an opportunity to shadow certified SUD Counselors and/or LPHAs during assessment, treatment planning, groups, classes, counseling sessions, and case management sessions.
