Monitor therapeutic outreach to individual clients of the office. Maintain professional relationship with treating therapists. Send necessary forms and documentation to therapist. The Life of Prayer and Penance are conditions defined by the Archdiocese as fulfilling the expectations of the Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People with respect to the lifestyle and behavioral expectations for priests who have at least one substantiated allegation of sexual abuse against a minor. The primary purpose of the Prayer and Penance program is to prevent sexual abuse by the program participants and to protect the community from harm. Secondary purposes of the Prayer and Penance Program are as follows: To reduce risk by promoting healthy living on the part of program participants in the program. To prevent harm to the faith of Catholics within the Archdiocese. To protect the reputation of the priesthood from further harm by individuals in the program. The guidelines that have been established for the Program of Prayer and Penance reflect current (2009) standards for community supervision with adults who have sexually offended minors. Increasing positive activities and pro-social relationships within a supervised framework with consistent accountability is the best overall methodology for prevention of further incidents of sexual abuse and other forms of sexual offending and is the core of the program. As the knowledge base in this area continues to develop, modifications will be in order. Job Description About the Role: The Addiction Counselor plays a crucial role in supporting individuals struggling with substance use disorders. This position focuses on providing comprehensive assessments, developing personalized treatment plans, and facilitating group and individual counseling sessions. The counselor will work closely with clients to help them understand their addiction, develop coping strategies, and achieve their recovery goals. Additionally, the role involves collaborating with other healthcare professionals and community resources to ensure a holistic approach to treatment. Ultimately, the Addictions Counselor aims to empower clients to lead healthier, more productive lives free from addiction. Minimum Qualifications: Must have an Associate's Degree Continuing education in Alcohol/Chemical Abuse Treatment, and/or completed a minimum of sixty (60) hours field field-related seminars Two years of minimum work experience with the population served and/or case management. Must be at least 21 years of age. Current CADC is needed. Responsibilities: Recruit eligible clients in conjunction with Addictions Counselors, Program Managers, and the SUD Department Director. Assist in the recovery plan development of clients receiving alcoholism and other drug counseling. Conduct the intake process of clients in the absence of or unavailability of the Addictions Counselors. Participate in clinical staff meetings to assess each client's appropriateness for continued stay in the assigned level of care or discharge. Provide individualized case management and group education sessions to prepare clients in transitioning from community housing to independent living.
