Your Job as a Substance Use Counselor:
The Substance Use Counselor is instrumental in our patient's treatment and recovery from opioid use disorder. Substance Use Counselors provide high quality, compassionate care through various mediums which include both individual and group counseling sessions.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide high quality, compassionate guidance in both individual and group counseling sessions.
Plan, oversee, facilitate and document patient's recovery.
Co-facilitate assigned group or family sessions as needed.
Ensure all documentation regarding patient care, treatment, and incidents is completed timely and in a clear, concise manner.
Prepare individual treatment plans for each assigned patient.
Initial assessments as well as follow up assessments.
Evaluate patient needs and determine if referrals to other programs or facilities are needed.
May plan for aftercare for assigned patients.
Provide crisis intervention to patients, as needed.
Provide case management duties for patients, ensuring individualized quality care as needed.
Act as a liaison between referral sources and patients, as needed.

Required Education, Skills, and Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in social or health services field is required; degree must be from an accredited college or university.
Minimum of 1 year of professional counseling experience is required.
Previous experience in addiction recovery or behavioral health settings, such as outpatient, residential, or correctional facilities, is highly preferred.
* Familiarity with Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), including methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone.
* Experience conducting individual and group counseling sessions focused on substance use recovery.
* Knowledge of evidence-based practices, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and relapse prevention techniques.
* Documentation experience, including maintaining clinical notes, treatment plans, and progress updates in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
* Familiarity with state regulatory standards (e.g., 42 CFR Part 2, HIPAA, Joint Commission standards).
* Experience collaborating in a multidisciplinary team with medical staff, case managers, and peer support specialists.

Work as part of a team providing crisis intervention to meet the needs of members of the community and Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) patients who are in crisis. This includes responding to telephone calls on crisis intervention lines. Assess current level of dangerousness for patients who report a psychiatric crisis both by phone and in-office. Provide crisis case management services applying CCBHC practices, as needed. Work with adults and children to see that community resources are in place to meet the current needs of the patient. Documentation.

* Completes call logs to ensure important information is available to other providers.
General Administrative Duties.
* Processing Medicaid, state hospital, Level II and PRTF screens as they are received in the Emergency Services office and recording the screen/s on the Emergency Services (ES) office electronic board.
* Processing half-slips for walk-in and cop-in patients, including entering patient information onto the ES office electronic board in a timely manner.
* Identify sources of information needed to provide comprehensive mental health treatment and secure the necessary COMCARE consents to release information. Submit necessary referral forms to team supervisor for approval or assignment in electronic health record (EHR).
* Ensure all needed documentation and forms are completed and up-to-date for assigned SCOAP patients.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or be equivalently qualified by work experience or a combination of work experience in the human services field and education, with one year of experience substituting for one year of education. Per Sedgwick County policy, this is a driving level position that requires a valid US driver's license without restrictions and current proof of automobile insurance. Must have access to personal passenger vehicle to complete the driving duties of the position. Meet the specifications as outlined in the CMHC/CCBHC licensing standards and pass KBI, DCF child abuse check, adult abuse registry, and motor vehicle screens. POSITION OVERVIEW: The SubstanceAbuseCounselor is accountable for assessing and providing treatment to individuals with substanceabuse difficulties, including abuse of tobacco, alcohol, or other drugs. The counselor's job role is to provide goal-directed, client centered help to clients with an addiction by educating them on the skills or the mechanics to deal with their addiction.
ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provides services in order to maintain required productivity/billing standard of 1200 hours per year (Exempt), 70% of hours worked (Non-Exempt)
2. Conducts comprehensive assessments through the use of client interviews, review of records, and conferring with other professionals.
3. Counsels clients' in group or individual sessions to help them to cope with any substanceabuse problems.
4. Counsels and helps family members to aid them in dealing with, supporting, and understanding the client. Engagement of family in treatment whenever possible.
5. Develops and implements treatment plans with client participation. Monitors, evaluates, and records client progress with that of treatment goals.

11. Assumes responsibility for the adequate delivery of treatment services to clientele. Including supervising all activities within group, both directly and through appropriate delegation.
12. Maintains confidentiality of records relating to client's treatment. Adherence to ethical standards as stipulated in the Kansas SRS Alcohol and other Drug AbuseCounselor Code of Ethics and BSRB Code of Ethics.
13. Initiates discharge planning with clients to facilitate termination, appropriately documenting in the record.
14. Learns about new developments in the field by reading professional literature, attending courses and seminars, and establishing and maintaining contact with other social service agencies.
15. Maintains training and requirements for licensure per the BSRB.
16. Reviews notes for peer mentor(s) and signs off on notes. Also provides weekly coaching/staffing with peer mentor(s).

Position Summary & Responsibilities
This position provides case management and reentry support for incarcerated individuals using a team-based, risk-focused approach. The role evaluates criminogenic needs, determines appropriate housing, work, and program assignments, and develops comprehensive release plans for inmates within one year of release. It requires proactive, constructive communication with inmates to reinforce cognitive-behavioral strategies and reduce antisocial behavior.
Key responsibilities include managing a caseload; supporting inmate adjustment, program completion, and rule compliance; conducting monthly risk-and-needs meetings; and maintaining accurate electronic records. The position collaborates closely with unit staff, program providers, security personnel, and work supervisors to prepare reviews, reentry plans, and release applications. Additional duties include completing risk assessments, ensuring accurate documentation, monitoring privilege and incentive levels, verifying Good Time eligibility, updating visitation lists, and ensuring inmates are assigned to appropriate programs or work details. This role may also handle complex cases and provide unit coverage in the absence of the Unit Team Manager.
Minimum Qualifications: Four years' direct experience in criminal justice, social science or behavioral sciences plus one year of experience working with offenders in corrections, parole or law enforcement.

These positions are part of JCMHC's Emergency Services Division and officed out of police departments. The Co-Responder role is ideal for clinicians who thrive in fast-paced environments, enjoy resolving crises in the field, and want to strengthen the collaboration between law enforcement and behavioral health. The program's goals include reducing unnecessary emergency room visits, preventing avoidable arrests, and decreasing repeat behavioral health calls to police by connecting individuals to appropriate services. The Co-Responder will respond in real-time to behavioral health-related 911 calls alongside law enforcement, provide crisis intervention in various community settings, and conduct follow-up outreach to ensure stabilization and connection to care. All in-person contacts are completed with a law enforcement officer. A county vehicle and cell phone are provided for this role.

We are seeking a Youth Behavioral Health Specialist I or II to join our team.
Starting Salary: $ 17.00 - $20.00 Hourly
Your role will oversee clients in daily activities while teaching new skills, ensuring safety, and managing behaviors. Plan activities, reinforce treatment plans, and document all client-related information. As a member of the Residential team, you will work with other team members and report to our Youth Behavioral Health Specialist Manager.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Responsible for direct supervision and safety of all clients.
Responsible for the proper behavior management of children through the use of behavior management techniques.
Build healthy relationships with clients and be a role model of healthy behaviors
Have a working knowledge of the child's treatment plan and objectives and structure activities to support that plan.
Responsible for creatively structuring activities for groups and conducting psycho-educational groups.
May be responsible for medication administration and other medical support.
Responsible for the review/writing of all required documentation.
Responsible for teaching, guiding, and assisting the client in daily life skills as appropriate for age.
Provide 24-hour awake supervision.
May assist the classroom teacher in performing classroom duties.
Ability to manage clients courteously and tactfully while on agency property.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING:
