Starting Salary: $50,000 Position Overview: This position is responsible for implementation of marketing plan to obtain referrals and recruit girls to the Pace Program. Provides intake services to girls that are enrolling in the Pace Program during the Research Evaluation and Pilot. Role and Responsibilities Participate in the development of the Centers recruitment and marketing strategy. Implement the Center's recruitment and marketing strategy. Establish and maintain relationship with Chief Probation Officer and JPO's in the local circuit. Plans marketing events for girls, families and referral sources. Participates in internship fairs to generate interest in Pace. Serves as first contact to families and girls who are considering the Pace program. Network with community agencies and maintain contact with referrals sources: Routinely visits and develops relationships with guidance counselors and Assistant Principal's in area middle and high schools to inform them of Pace as an alternative for girls who cannot or will not succeed in traditional educational environment. Routinely visits and develops relationships with community referral sources including local churches, law enforcement agencies, Armed Forces recruitment personnel, community service organizations, businesses, retail stores. Routinely visits area apartment complexes, public housing developments, parks, recreation and athletic facilities where young people congregate to recruit potential intakes. Participates in community fairs, festivals and parades to recruit potential girls. Serves as first contact to families and girls who are considering the Pace program. Conducts preliminary needs assessment and assesses the appropriateness of placement of the girl into the Pace program. Compiles documentation for intake as required by policy. Participates on the intake team to assess the needs of each girl. Promotes referral award programs which reward existing girls for new girl referrals. Contacts new girl admissions to provide positive support for continuous attendance. Establishes and maintains a waiting list. Maintains girl prospect contact database. Provides continuous feedback to the Supervisor and Executive Director. Follows evaluation protocol. Share responsibility for maintaining center census. Establishes positive relationships with outside agencies and maintain current community referral resource list. Qualifications and Education Requirements Bachelors Degree ;Major in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health, Counseling or a related field Minimum three years prior experience Knowledge of case management practices and excellent counseling skills and crisis management skills Minimum experience using personal computers and basic office equipment Current Florida driver's license Knowledge of the local community and youth serving agencies. The Functional Assessment Specialist is responsible for administering, scoring, and interpreting the Functional Assessment Rating Scales (FARS) and Children's Functional Assessment Rating Scale (CFARS) to evaluate the behavioral, emotional, and psychosocial functioning of clients within behavioral health programs. The specialist plays a key role in treatment planning, outcome measurement, and ensuring compliance with state and organizational standards for behavioral health assessment and reporting. Candidates must be local or willing to relocate to become local and licensed at the independent level as a Social Worker (LCSW, LICSW, LCSW-R or LICSW-CP), Mental Health Counselor (LPC or LMHC), or Therapist (LMFT) or equivalent independent licensure. This position has the primary responsibility of providing the full breadth of Child and Youth Behavioral (CYB) counseling services to children of all ages of military service members and their families at military installations to include civilian expeditionary work force and their families (when activated). These services may include non-medical counseling, training/health and wellness presentations, consultation with parents, personnel at child development centers, and consultation to installation command regarding behavioral health issues affecting children and youth. CYB counselors will be assigned to child development centers, youth programs, summer camps, and on demand assignments. The counselors work closely with the installation and military branch Points of Contact (POC) to assure that the program is provided within scope and meets the needs of the installation. Provides non-medical, short-term, solution focused counseling directly to eligible children and youth of service members at assigned primary and secondary locations. Services include assessment, brief counseling and consultation, action planning, referral to resources (assuring linkage as appropriate), and follow-up as indicated. CYB counselors will also have a focus on supporting the staff and personnel of Child Development Centers (CDC), youth programs and summer camps (if available/assigned) as well as providing parent support, training, and guidance. Provides training and health and wellness presentations, participate in health fairs and other base/installation activities focused on children and youth. Enters counselor activity data daily through smart phone or web application to assure that reporting is accurate from assigned installation while maintaining confidentiality and anonymity of service/family member. Establishes and maintains working relationships with community resources focused on children and youth and provides appropriate linkages. Consistently visible within the assigned location(s) which allows MFLC services to be accessible. When working with children, counselor must abide by line-of-sight protocol. Communicates with Regional Supervisors and participates in regular individual and group supervision, sharing information regarding trends and issues on the installations and in facilities to which the counselor is assigned. Responds to critical incidents and special requests as directed by the POC and approved by the Office of Secretary of Defense (OSD) program manager. The CYB will flex schedule to respond to urgent requests as needed or at the request of the Regional Supervisor/Regional Director. Participates in regular in-services/training, Quality Improvement committees, initiatives, studies, pilot programs other contract activities as assigned/appropriate as directed by the customer and/or Magellan.
