Professional Medical Practice, P.C., is looking for an Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC-T, CASAC, CASAC2) to work in the medical department at the Broome County Correctional Facility located in Binghamton, NY
This is a full-time position, working 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday (7:00am-3:30pm or 8:00am-4:30pm).
Hourly Rate: $23.00- 26.00.
You must have a CASAC-T, CASAC, or CASAC2 to qualify for this role.
Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for the clinical monitoring, coordination, and implementation of the behavioral health program in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
Serve as the liaison between medical and facility staff as it pertains to Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT).
Engage patient in therapeutic interventions with the goal of addressing substance use related concerns.
Facilitate group and individual sessions with patients in the MAT program.
Actively assist with the detection and prevention of patient suicide.
Document all patient encounters in a timely manner utilizing the SOAPE note format.
Assist and/or collaborate with facility staff regarding discharge planning for patients in the MAT program, where applicable.
Facilitate/participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and/or case consultations with staff across disciplines.
Participate as a member of the Quality Assurance Committee and any sub-committees. Assist in the establishment of Quality Assurance standards and audit criteria.
Serve as a member of various committees within the medical unit and facility as necessary.

The Child Care Worker will function as an integral part of the TASP team. The role involves working with a group of up to 10 children. All of the children are at risk of placement outside the home, and our mission is to support them in a preventive and stabilizing capacity. Additionally, many of our kids have a traumatic background and may not respond to traditional methods of childcare work. Because of this, staff should expect to encounter challenging behaviors and be prepared to respond with patience and professionalism. Responsibilities:
Provide safe and responsible transport for youth, families and other Children's Home affiliates. Transportation responsibilities may be as much as three to four hours per day.
Develop and maintain therapeutic relationships with the children and their families that are responsive to their needs.
Promote growth of the parent-child relationship as indicated by that plan, as well as the agency's philosophy of family centered practice.
Maintain good relationships through collaboration and advocacy on client's behalf with DSS, community agencies, schools, staff and other service providers.
Complete required reports and documentation in a timely manner, including: progress notes, treatment planning, case specific materials, Connections Case Management System, etc.
Use family-centered practice approaches in service delivery and case planning in treatment, permanency planning and discharge.
Continuously evaluate the strengths and needs of children and family to provide appropriate planning. Promote and guide the development of enhanced coping, socialization, parenting and independent living skills through the treatment planning process.
Provide for the safety and well-being of at-risk children, through the judicious use of discipline, therapeutic crisis intervention, CARE principles, and supervision. Effectively communicate all behavioral, emotional, and medical needs to the Director or the assigned Case Manager.
Provide for the overall growth and development of each child through instructing, counseling and direction in matters of personal conduct, hygiene, appearance, social skills, school, routines, and work habits. Foster the physical, spiritual and emotional needs of each child.
Provide for the recreational needs of at-risk children both within and away from the program site.
Foster the social, vocational and cultural needs and interests of each child.

Present a summary of cases at staff meetings to elicit input from other counselors and to update staff on treatment progress.
Plan or conduct family counseling sessions.
Execute interventions, prevention, and referrals appropriate for the client's needs and facilitate referrals to other services such as aftercare, higher level of care, and other outside agency referrals.
Attend weekly staff meetings.
Participates in ongoing in-service training programs.
Stay current on training requirements each year.
Employee will be proficient in their job position within six (6) months. If an employee feels they need more training/education, they are to submit a request through their supervisor, manager, and/or director.

Overview of responsibilities

Ability to work extended hours when needed.
Experience with AQTESOLV, Rockworks, and MODFLOW software is preferred, but not required.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
