Responsibilities
* Build, mentor, and manage a local team of substation engineers and designers.
* Provide technical leadership across substation physical (primary) and protection & control (secondary) design.
* Oversee development of engineering deliverables, including:
* One line and three line diagrams
* General arrangements and equipment layouts
* Grounding, lightning protection, and conduit/cable routing plans
* Protection & control schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts
* Bills of material, specifications, and construction packages
* Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering efforts with civil, structural, transmission, and SCADA/communications teams.
* Support project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
* Ensure engineering work meets quality standards, technical requirements, and client expectations.
* Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to support EPC execution, constructability reviews, and field issue resolution.
* Contribute to business growth by improving processes, developing standards, and supporting proposals and estimating.
Qualifications
* 10+ years of experience performing engineering related duties and/or management for substation projects.
* P.E. license required
* Knowledge of engineering and construction standards and processes including scheduling, contracts, coordinating and managing all disciplines
* Ability to work independently with limited direction and oversight
* Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) or Graduate degree in Engineering or related field from an ABET accredited university
* Strong attention to detail; strong communication, interpersonal, leadership and team-building skills.
* Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
* Competitive - demonstrating the desire to win the project and grow the team through leadership and teamwork.
