Ensures the classroom and all equipment is maintained in a clean and safe condition.

Uses routines, activities and experiences in the daily program that achieves the child's individualized goals.
Prepares and arranges all necessary education materials designed to encourage individual and group play.
Models positive reinforcement with children in the classroom.
Records observations, shares information about the child with the Teacher to plan together how to best meet the child's needs.
Creates instructional bulletin boards and other materials to support lesson themes and activities.
Supervises children at all times to ensure safety and completes incidents reports as necessary.
Maintains daily records of child's attendance, health and behavior, reports suspicions of child abuse or neglect to the Site Supervisor.
Maintains absolute confidentiality regarding children and their families in compliance with HIPAA regulations and company policies.

QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Eighteen semester units or more in Early Childhood Education or Child Development.
Candidate must be concurrently enrolled in a program leading to an Associate's Degree or a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Relevant experience in direct care of children between birth and 5 years of age including parental involvement or participation.
Basic curriculum development and implementation.
Experience with children with a variety of disabilities (preferred).
Spanish / English bilingual strongly preferred.
Ability to handle confidential information.
Maintains patient privacy, including protecting the confidentiality, safeguarding the integrity and availability, and limiting the use and disclosure of patient Protected Health Information (PHI) to authorized individuals and entities.

In accordance with California law, the expected pay range for this position is included in this posting. The actual compensation will be determined based on factors permitted by law. SUPERVISION & SUPPORT REQUIREMENTS

Completion of an individualized mentoring plan aligned with CTC standards (instructional practices, classroom management, IEP compliance, and English Learner support).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Develop and teach the daily curriculum for English, Math, Science, and History to students in grades 612 with emotional disability or other health impairments.
Complete 30-Day, Annual, and Tri-Annual IEPs, including assessments, goal development, and progress reports, in collaboration with the university/district supervisor.
Complete all IEP documentation, monitor and manage IEP timelines to ensure compliance, and actively participate in IEP meetings with school districts as a collaborative team member.
Teach during the Extended School Year (ESY), a program providing additional instruction outside the regular school year, to support students with credit recovery and continued academic progress.
Collaborate with Behavioral and Educational Support Specialists and multidisciplinary teams (therapists, nurses, administrators, caregivers, and classroom staff) to provide academic, behavioral, and therapeutic interventions for students.
Maintain and actively reinforce the schools reward program to promote and encourage positive student behavior.
Respond to student crises as needed, using de-escalation strategies and, when necessary, physical intervention as a last resort to ensure student safety.
Complete and document daily Medi-Cal progress notes to track services provided to youth, ensuring compliance with billing and electronic health record requirements.
Engage caregivers and students treatment team in discussions about student growth and education involvement.
Create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and culturally responsive classroom that supports and reinforces the schools therapeutic program.
Responsible for all standardized academic and statewide assessments
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise students across all school settings, including breaks and lunch, as assigned
Attend all required meetings, supervision sessions, and professional development trainings.
Meet regularly for individual oversight with supervisor(s).
Other duties may be required as La Cheim continues its development. Employees are expected to be flexible and responsive to changes in the scope of duties.
Understand and embody La Cheim's philosophy, organizational culture, and communication channels by practicing a collaborative approach.
Complete any additional tasks assigned by the Supervisor, Department Head, and/or CEO.
Meeting with school district representatives to describe the academic program.

Attend Field Trips to build rapport and provide enriching experiences for students.

APPOINTMENT DATE AND ACADEMIC CALENDAR
The need for part-time faculty is greatest in Fall and Spring semesters. The Fall term begins in the late August and ends in mid-December; the Spring term runs from the middle of January through the end of May. On rare occasions part-time faculty are needed during one of the Summer Session segments.
PERFORMANCE EVALUATION
Regular performance evaluations of part-time lecturers are made by the department in accord with the faculty Collective Bargaining Agreement and University Policy Statement 210.070. These performance evaluations determine which lecturers will be retained for future and continued teaching assignments. And in some instances, syllabi, assignments and reading material will be reviewed by the departmental personnel committee.
APPOINTMENT AND SALARY
All part-time faculty appointments are made as Lecturers, under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the CSU system and the California Faculty Association. Initial appointments are for one semester only.
Classification Range: $5,507 - $6,677 per month
Anticipated hiring range depending on qualifications, not to exceed $6,221 per month
The full-time (15 units per semester) monthly base salaries indicated above are prorated to the number of units worked and are paid in six monthly payments for each full semester. For a three-unit assignment, typical starting compensation ranges from $6,608.40 to $7,465.20 per semester.
