Provide developmental services with quality and confidentiality for Head Start children and families.
Plan and implement daily developmental learning models for pre-school age children, incorporating differences in cultural and socio-economic backgrounds, emotional and physical abilities, individual styles and pace of learning.
Maintain a physical environment that promotes optimal growth and development and positive social interaction; enjoy meals with children to promote pro-social behavior.
Monitor and supervise children at all times; conduct daily observations and health checks.
Implement developmentally appropriate reading, writing, mathematics, science, and social programs that enhance children's knowledge, language and literacy development; and furthers children's listening, vocabulary, and attention span by using prompts for discussion and follow-up activities; implement programs that promote healthy, accepting attitudes toward children's bodies and their functions.
Develop and implement Individual Education Plans for all children, including those with diagnosed disabilities; evaluate and document children's progress by observing and documenting children's play, conversations, routines/schedules, health checks and work samples, and through conversations with families.
Demonstrate respect for families' values, strengths, and cultures by welcoming their contributions and participation, encouraging children to talk about their families, and designing learning experiences accordingly; incorporate information about children obtained through home visits, parent-teacher conferences, and other parent-staff interactions into daily routines and interactions with children.
Coordinate with Family Service Workers, ADA, and child abuse program requirements; schedule and document parent-teacher conferences and home visits.
Evaluate environmental and developmental progress, and maintain records for each child, including progress and immunization status.
Facilitate the transition process to or from Early Head Start/Head Start, home, and/or other early education and care settings by engaging families, others in the program, and members of the community in planning and implementing strategies that ensure successful transitions.
Provide advice and support to teacher assistants and parent participants.
Recruit and register children as required by Head Start Performance Standards.
Actively participate in staff meetings, training sessions, conferences, workshops and other career development and professional activities.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field from an accredited college or university is preferred.
Understanding of diverse cultures and experience working with diverse populations, including low to moderate-income families
Two (2) years of experience teaching preschool children in an urban environment.
Two (2) years of customer service experience.
Ability to work with and teach infants and toddlers.
Computer experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize duties.
Ability to analyze and interpret data and successfully resolve problems
Willingness to accommodate planned and unplanned travel to and from Head Start Center and other C-HCCAA or meeting/conference locations, including overnight and/or out of town travel.

Purpose: The purpose of the 9-12 head teacher is to give lessons and support the overall Montessori environment of learners.
Qualifications and Requirements
Education Level: Bachelors or Masters, Montessori Certification
Experience Desired: Three (3) years in a similar position.
Physical Requirements: Constant hand-eye and mind eye coordination, standing and walking. Repetitive motion with wrists, hands and fingers. Frequent bending, carrying, hearing, lifting and stooping. Ability to travel to any and all places where student activities and instruction take place. This may involve several minutes of walking from one part of the campus to the other. In some instances, such as emergencies, this may need to be done at a rapid pace. Access to various locations within the building, may involve climbing stairs or ramps, opening doors, and negotiating around furniture and tight spaces. Must be able to communicate and demonstrate competence in health care, especially in the care of diabetes, asthma and allergies.
Other Requirements: Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to work with computers for word processing, spreadsheets, data skills.
Working Conditions: Job requires ability to sit and or stand for long periods of time as well as running, stooping and squatting. Possible exposure to communicable
diseases, blood, bodily tissue and fluids. Work is conducted in controlled comfortable
indoor environment and extreme conditions outside. Exposure to chemicals and fumes is a possibility.

Have knowledge of Ohio's Learning Standards
Develop curriculum that supports the Montessori method and philosophy
Instruct students and provide positive classroom management using methods that support the developmental needs of children
Observe student learning to inform instruction
Establish a safe, orderly, and prepared classroom environment
Collaborate with the 9-12 teaching team and with administration
Demonstrate professional and supportive relationships with all students, parents, colleagues and administration
Implement research-based individualized teaching methods for students identified with specific learning disabilities
Engage in planning and implementation of off-campus field experiences, some of which are multi-day trips involving overnights
Participate in all activities including nature-based, physically rigorous ones
Utilize a variety of electronic platforms for grading, parent communication, and instruction
Meet attendance requirements
Participate in ongoing professional growth and serve on committees or groups as requested
Assist in maintaining playground environment
Willingness to complete and maintain Safeparish training
