As a Substitute Para Educator (Teacher Assistant), you contribute to this mission by providing assistance with classrom instruction and assisting students who may need a little extra help. You will work as part of a team that serves 8,000 students at 18 campuses across Helena.
Some of what you will do:
Promote a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth in the para educators (teacher assistants) absence.
Provide assistance for individual students and/or small groups based on lesson plans.
May assist in the maintenance of appropriate student records.
Who we are looking for:
A high school diploma or equivalent.
Prior experience working with school aged children is preferred.
Substitute Para Educators (Teacher Assistants) enjoy a flexible schedule and preference of location and assignment. Opportunities for short and long term coverage!
This positions are paid $14.85 per hour.

Applicant must be a current Carroll College student enrolled in at least 6 credits to be eligible to apply. Department: Helena Elementary Schools Duties and Responsibilities: Assist students in becoming more fluent readers by helping students with: letter recognition; letter/sound correspondence; and decoding and encoding words. Duties would also include reading stories to students and listening to students read. Work would be on a one-to-one or small group basis.
Qualifications: Must be conscientious, friendly, well-adjusted individuals who like children and reading.
