Job Summary
The Fort Dodge Community School District is seeking a reliable, flexible, and enthusiastic short-term substitute to fill in for an employee on leave. The duration of this assignment is estimated to last between 1 and 12 weeks, depending on the circumstances. This role will support students and/or staff by maintaining continuity in instruction, supervision, and/or operations in the absent employee's role. *This position is not benefits eligible.
Essential Functions
Deliver lessons and follow plans provided by the regular staff member (as applicable).
Maintain a safe, respectful, and productive environment.
Monitor student behavior and maintain classroom or work area expectations.
Communicate effectively with students, staff, and administrators.
Follow school policies, procedures, and daily schedules.
Perform other duties as assigned that support the continuity of the absent employee's role.
Performs other duties, as assigned.
Reliable work attendance is required.
Requirements
Current substitute authorization through the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy enabling differentiation
Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis and the formulation of action plans.
Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students.
Ability to use computer network system, technology devices and software applications.
Ability to organize and coordinate work.
Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, coworkers and the greater community.
Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth.
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others.
