The School District of Onalaska is seeking substitute teachers. All applicants must obtain a current Wisconsin DPI teaching or substitute teaching license. Pay is $146.00 per full day and $73.00 for a half-day. If you sub 20 consecutive days, each day after is at the base teacher rate (2025-26 rate is $267.27 per day).
No nights or weekends, school day only. You choose the hours/days you are available. This is an on-call position for open teacher positions that occur on an infrequent/daily basis throughout the school year.
Qualifications: A minimum of an associate's degree or bachelors' required and the ability to obtain a Wisconsin DPI teaching or substitute teaching license. Salary Information
The starting pay rate of is $29.13 per hour, plus excellent benefits. Candidates may receive supplemental pay, up to $2.97/hr., for additional credits relevant to the position that are over & above the credits needed for certification. Pay on appointment for current state employees may vary according to the applicable pay transaction provisions of the compensation plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code.
The pay schedule/range is 13-04. A 12-month probationary period may be required.
There is a current $3.00 add on pay for all worked hours.
Candidates with no prior permanent employment with the State of Wisconsin in the past 5 years may be eligible to accept a sign-on bonus of $2,000. The sign-on bonus will be paid in two installments: $1000 on the first paycheck and $1000 with the paycheck for the pay period in which the employee attains permanent status (usually 1 year).
To receive the bonus, a candidate must sign an agreement indicating they will remain in that position for a year. If the candidate leaves their position prior to completing the one year, they may be required to reimburse the initial payment.

SUMMARY: Special Education Teachers are responsible for the overall operation of assigned classroom, including student evaluation, ensuring student Behavior Plans are implemented with fidelity, and the design and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Develop and implement viable and productive lesson plans and educational experiences for students within the framework of each student's assessed strengths and needs. The Special Education Teacher will provide overall direction and supervision of their assigned classroom in coordination with Chileda's programming goals.
JOB DUTIES: Follow lesson plans created by classroom teachers to direct students and DSPs with classroom activities.
Ensure staff and students remain on schedule and engaged in daily lessons and activities.
Act in a supervisory capacity for Direct Support Professionals when assigned to classroom, directing implementation of academic and behavioral programming as outlined in students' individual plans. Report and record areas of concern with the Education Manager and/or Director of Special Education.
Maintain Skills Trainer certification for the Short-Term Empowerment Program, including all required training.
Accept all other duties as assigned by Educational Manager, including working in the capacity of a DSP as needed.

Job Description
The School District of Onalaska is accepting applications for a part-time regular education paraprofessional at Onalaska High School. Paraprofessionals in the School District of Onalaska are classified as one encompassing unit of employees and are an integral part of the school system's programs. Paraprofessionals are assigned by the building administrator to many assignments which may be different in each of the schools. Special education paraprofessionals will support students in general education and within special education programming as needed.
This position is scheduled for 4 hours per school day, Hours are 8am - 12pm.
No nights or weekends, school day only, and summer school work is available if interested.
Qualifications: A minimum of two years (48 credits) post high school education, or an associate degree preferred. If two years post high school is not achieved, applicants must have passed ParaPro Assessment or designated WorkKeys Assessments prior to employment. The WorkKeys Assessment is paid for by the district if selected for employment.
