Essential Functions
Design thoughtful lessons and activities for four sections of science. Teaching assignments may vary from year to year.

Summary:
The Growing Up New Mexico Early Learning Center at Kaune is a state funded PreK Program and Early Childhood Center that seeks to strengthen families and the community through an interconnected network of early intervention, education, economic development, and family support programs. Growing Up New Mexico is comprised of programs and services including Home Visiting; Great Start Family Support; Early Learning Programs; Bridges to Opportunity; Family, Friends, and Neighbors; and Dolly Parton's Imagination Library programs.
The Teacher's Aide is responsible for providing support to each of the classrooms at the Early Learning Center at Kaune and must report for duty on time and perform quality program assistance and support during classroom time and for meals. The Teacher Aide complies with program policies and disciplinary standards. This is a full-time position expected to work 40 hours per week.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
Teach and/or care for children as needed and directed by teachers and program director.
Take children to the bathroom and relieve teachers for breaks as appropriate.
Ensure that all ECECD regulations for childcare, including those pertaining to health and safety, are met for each child at all times, including knowledge of and participation in emergency evacuation procedures.

Purpose: To provide classroom instruction in the Zuni language to meet the goals and objectives of the Zuni Public School District's State Bilingual Program.
This is to be used as a guide for accomplishing state and district objectives and only covers the primary functions and responsibilities of the position. It is in no way to be construed as an all-encompassing list of duties.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate of Arts or Applied Science Degree;
OR
An equivalent combination of education experience;
AND
Must have a NM Education Assistant License Level II (502);
Must have a NM Native American Language and Culture Certificate (520);
Have knowledge of Zuni culture, traditions, customs and language;
Experienced in computer operations with the ability to enter data, utilize interactive panels, Student Information System (SIS), Google programs and Microsoft Office programs;
Experienced in developing lessons using backwards planning, tracking information for progress monitoring and records management;
Must be fluent in the Zuni language and English language with the ability to communicate effectively with students both orally and in writing;
Must have skills in establishing and maintaining effective educational relationship with students;
Ability to maintain confidentiality;
Ability to participate in focused and reflective work ethics;
Clearly and accurately communicate with teachers, students, supervisors, and families;
Exhibit personal responsibility for daily work and attendance and personal appearance;
Effectively present information and respond to questions from students, parents, peers and supervisors.
Essential Duties:
Treat all students with dignity and respect;
Follow the directions of the school administrator and the bilingual program coordinator;
Provide direct instruction in the Zuni language to varying levels of students;
Implement the Zuni curriculum in alignment with the pacing guide of the curriculum;
Coordinate with other Zuni language instructors on assignments, tasks, projects and behavior as needed;
Coordinate with other Zuni language instructors concerning curriculum, students, activities and Zuni language issues;
Ensure that required testing is done on a timely basis;
Manage multiple projects, schedules and student activities;
Plan, develop and implement instructional plans;
Reinforce academic behaviors to individual or small groups of students and monitor student progress;
Establish, model, practice and reinforce age-appropriate rules and logical consequences;
Maintains data charts and records related to student progress;
Maintain a clean, safe and organized classroom;
Provide immediate, corrective and/or positive feedback to students regarding behavior and/or academic performance;
Maintain confidentiality of student records, conversations, discussions and classroom information;
Maintain discipline in the classroom at all times;
Participate in required professional development opportunities and meetings;
Perform other duties as assigned on a timely basis.
Physical Functions:
Frequently required to stand, talk, hear and sometimes walk and sit;
Occasionally required to lift up to 30 pounds, may lift up to 75 pounds with the help of another employee;
Hand and eye coordination in operating computer, interactive panel
Usually works on even surfaces, may walk on uneven surfaces outdoors;
Exposed to various levels of noise (talking, assemblies, dance activities, etc.);
May work in close proximity to other individuals;
General vision, corrected to 20/20, reads a multitude of records, correspondence and data.
Mental Functions:
Must be able to:
