Job Goal:
To provide instruction in the classroom when teachers are absent for any of a variety of reasons.
Qualifications:
Must pass a reference check and drug and alcohol testing.
Must obtain a Substitute Teacher License from the Nevada Department of Education:
Applicants must have 60 college credits to be eligible for a Certified Substitute Teacher license.
Applicants who have not earned 60 college credits must have a HS diploma or equivalent to be eligible for an Emergency Substitute Teacher license.
Must complete two days of classroom observations.
This vacancy is for Southern Nye Schools (Pahrump Schools only). Northern Nye applicants will not be considered for this vacancy.

In order to maintain an encouraging learning environment for students while their regular teacher is absent, the Licensed Substitute Teacher will implement daily student instruction based on an educational curriculum designed to meet State of Nevada as well as federal standards for students.
