STATEMENT OF THE JOB: Under the direct supervision of the Learning Coach Supervisor, with the Director of Education's management, the Guest Special Education Teacher, implements and maintains a special education classroom in accordance with their certification and always in regulation with the education codes established by the California State Department of Education. RESPONSIBILITIES: Follow the California Department of Education State standards and requirements. Responsible for overseeing curriculum provided by the classroom teacher. Implements the students' Individual Education Plans provided by the teacher (I.E.P.). Manages appropriate school behavior with support from Learning Coaches. Adheres to and enforces all policies and rules governing student behavior using Nurtured Heart, TCI, and other educator training skills. Effectively and professionally communicates with students and staff. Appropriately utilizes assigned classroom Learning Coaches to support classroom and student needs. Provides input on student credit sheets. Other reasonable tasks as assigned. JOB EXPECTATIONS: Follows agency policy for crisis intervention and management skills. Part-time Description It is the primary responsibility of the EEC Child Development Teacher's Assistant to provide activities for children from 2-5 years of age in the Early Education Center program, to comply with the overall procedures and policies of the program, and to be an effective witness for Christ. Requirements RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Keep children safe and accounted for. Maintain behavior standards. Complete routine paperwork. Provide first aid and complete accident/injury reports, as necessary. Greet and monitor adults as they pick up children. Assist in daily clean up and closing of the program. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of one year paid or volunteer experience in working with preschool-age children. This can include intern EEC class. Ability to develop cooperative working relationships with coworkers and to relate well to all preschool-age children. Ability to support in the infant/Toddler program if needed.
