Ensemble Schools is seeking a fun, experienced, and professional drum instructors to teach part-time as substitutes at Ellsworth Music Supply and Repair in Ranson, WV. We are looking for teachers who will instruct in person.
Substituteteachers will be contacted when there is a deficit in a main teacher's schedule but consistency is appreciated by both students and school staff, and preference will be given to candidates with greater availability.
Successful candidates will have a strong music background evidenced by a degree in music performance, pedagogy, or equivalent performing experience, a demonstrated love of teaching, experience working with young musicians, a robust appreciation for punctuality, reliable transportation, and the ability to pass a routine background check.
Instructor pay is commensurate with experience and will be in the range of $26-$28/hour.A 401(K) program with employer matching is available to all of our employees after 90 days on the job. Health benefit packages are available for all part- and full-time employees at Ensemble.

PLEASE NOTE that only teachers holding a full professional teaching certification or substitute permit issued before December 11, 2017, are eligible for advanced degrees/salary levels in the substitute pay scales (BA+,MA, MA+, PHD) as issued by the WVDE. After December 11, 2017, those individuals issued and working under a substitute permit are only eligible for the minimum degree level required under WV Board of Education Policy 5202 for issuance of the permit or authorization regardless of their educational background. Due to a WVDE interpretation of policy, any individual holding a substitute permit may no longer apply for upgrade of advanced salary degree levels.

Applicants must be at least 21 years of age. Applicants must also hold at least a 2 year conferred Associates Degree from an accredited institution (min. GPA 2.0) or meet the minimum equivalency hours . Equivalency in lieu of a conferred associate degree should include a minimum of 60 semester credit hours or 90 quarter of completed course work with a 2.0 cumulative GPA or higher. Coursework should provide evidence of competencies in core areas such as English, reading, writing, and mathematics. Courses may include but are not limited to communications, social sciences, humanities and fine arts, analytical and inferential reasoning, and computational skills. These hours must be reflected on an official transcript of an accredited institution.
