Position Description
Wichita Collegiate School is a place that values the whole child and supports the unique needs that students bring with them as they enhance our school community. SubstituteTeachers are expected to maintain a positive classroom environment in the absence of the primary teacher.
SubstituteTeachers are needed in the following divisions.
Early Childhood substitutes work with preschoolers through kindergarten.
Lower School Substitutes work with Grades 1-4.
Middle School Substitutes work with Grades 5-8.
Upper School Substitutes work with Grades 9-12.
The primary responsibilities of substitutes include, but not limited to, the following:
Follow lesson plans as outlined by the teacher and maintain a classroom environment that allows for effective student-led learning.
Keep children safe with diligent supervision by enforcing school rules and rules by the teacher.
Successful Collegiate SubstituteTeachers enjoy the classroom and can quickly build a rapport with students. Substitutes should have some experience working in education, but not required.
